Description of activities, responsibilities corresponding to the position/ General and specific mandatory conditions imposed by the job description/

Attributions: Contributes to increasing the capacity of public institutions and local public authorities to assess and manage the health risk associated with uncontrolled sources of water and food in Roma communities from Transylvania by creating a model of a support tool for decision-making in the field of reducing the health risk associated with uncontrolled sources of water and food in rural Roma communities in Transylvania and creating a database that includes quality measurements of water and food sources from these communities.

The following are listed as specific objectives:

-Identification of Roma communities at high risk of exposure to uncontrolled sources of water and food in rural areas of Transylvania;

-Establishment of high-risk biological and chemical toxic substances from uncontrolled sources of water and food in rural Roma communities in Transylvania;

-Creating a health risk assessment model associated with the consumption of toxic substances from uncontrolled water and food sources in Roma communities in rural areas;

-Elaboration of a guide of hygiene and sanitary measures to increase the safety of drinking water and safe food consumption, including personal hygiene;

- Communicating the health risk associated with uncontrolled sources of water and food to Roma communities and public authorities, as well as recommendations for the implementation of sanitary measures to increase the safety of drinking water and food consumption.

-Elaboration of study protocols; operating procedures; development and validation of standard questionnaires for assessing the contribution of environmental factors on living and health conditions; population sample selection; identification of unsafe water and food sources in Roma communities in Transylvania; environmental and food testing strategy; analysis reports; study on the impact of uncontrolled sources of water and food on the health of Roma communities in Transylvania; identification of diseases associated with pollutants from environmental factors; evaluation and monitoring; generation of dose-response models; developing a methodological guide for monitoring and controlling the quality of water and food sources in Roma communities in order to reduce the risk to human health and adopting the best practices provided by the Norwegian partner in the field of water and food source safety; the realization of an integrated mathematical model for health risk assessment, correlated with the type and quantities of contaminants /pollutants ingested from uncontrolled sources of water and food that can be applied to other similar communities; drafting proposals for regulations and quality standards; development of a guide to hygienic-sanitary measures of good practice; proposals for legal regulations and environmental and living conditions; the development of a Model Guide to good hygienic-sanitary practices/ Basic Protocol for local public authorities in order to increase the safety of drinking water and food consumption, including personal hygiene rules; communications and articles; web page; presentation CD; the elaboration of analyses/reports/studies in the area of competence (health); the creation of reports/information/notes/documentation regarding the specific activity, in order to ensure the smooth running of the project's activities; efficient use of working time; on-time and high-quality execution of assigned tasks.
