By order issued by the Director General of the Telecommunications Institute on 22 March 2023, it was approved to open a call for a (1) job position, for the exercise of legal support activities to the activity of the Centro de interface Tecnológico (CTI-IT), within the scope of the project INTERFACE, Investimento RE-C05-i02 – Missão Interface with No. 03/C05-i02/2022, under the scope of an indefinite term working contract, overseen by the Portuguese Labour Code, in view of the execution of the following tasks:

The work to be carried out under the Interface project comprises the following activities:

  • Legal advice to the CTI-IT management;
  • Legal support to the Human Resources department, namely:
  • Preparation and analysis of employment contracts;
  • Monitoring of CTI-IT employment contracts, in the perspective of compliance with the applicable legal and contractual regulations.
  • Legal support to CTI-IT procurement and R&D activity namely:
  • Write, analyse, and negotiate contracts with customers and suppliers;
  • Write, analyse, and negotiate partnership contracts for R&D projects;
  • Write, analyse, and negotiate Confidentiality Agreements related to CTI-IT activity;
  • Write, analyse, and negotiate agreements and contracts for sharing and transferring IT intellectual property.

Applicable Legislation:

  • Labour Code, approved by Law no. 7/2009, of 12 February, in its current reading.

The workplace shall be at Instituto de Telecomunicações, Polo de Aveiro, Campus Universitário de Santiago, 3810-193 Aveiro.

Specific Requirements

Any national, foreign and stateless candidate(s) holding a bachelor's or master's degree in law  or similar scientific area, and a suitable scientific and professional curriculum may submit an application. In case the degree has been awarded by a foreign higher education institution, the degree must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 341/2007 of 12th of October, and all formalities established therein must be fulfilled, by the selected candidate, until the date of signature of the contract.

General tender admission requirements include those specified in the previous point. Additionally, the applicant’s admission to the contest of this hiring procedure must fulfil the requirements pointed out in clauses 7.1 to 7.10:

7.1 – Bachelor’s degree and/or master's degree in law

7.2 – Knowledge of administrative law

7.3 – Knowledge of labour law

7.4 – Knowledge of contract law

7.5 – Computer skills (Excel, Word, e-mail, etc.)

7.6 – Organisational skills

7.7 – Initiative and team spirit

7.8 – Interpersonal empathy

7.9 – Knowledge of English (spoken and written), knowledge of other languages being an asset

7.10 – Knowledge of the context in which R&D institutions operate and of issues related to Copyright and Industrial Property Law will also be valued.

Benefits

The monthly remuneration to be attributed consists of 1 528, 85 Euros (negotiable, depending on experience and CV).


Eligibility criteria

Any national, foreign and stateless candidate(s) holding a bachelor's or master's degree in law  or similar scientific area, and a suitable scientific and professional curriculum may submit an application.


Selection process

The selection panel shall be Prof. Dr. José Carlos Pedro (President), Prof. Dr. Carlos Fernandes and Dr. Marcelino Pousa, and by Eng. Pedro Silva as substitute member.

The evaluation of the scientific and curricular career has two components, namely:

i) The assessment of the curriculum vitae and other documentation presented. This component of the evaluation is expressed on a numeric scale from 0 to 20 (...)

ii) Candidates with a classification of 14 or higher in the previous component will be invited to an interview. In this interview they should make a personal presentation of their capability towards the position and their expectations regarding the presented opportunity. The evaluation of the presentation is expressed in a scale of 0 to 20 and should take into account the scientific knowledge and the capacity of communication demonstrated by the candidate, as well as the answers to the questions placed by the members of the evaluation panel.

Each panel member score is obtained attributing (i) a weighing factor of 60% to the classification given to the evaluation of the curriculum vitae and other documentation, and (ii) a weighing factor of 40% to the classification given to the Interview.

Both the admitted and excluded candidate list and final classification list shall be posted at Instituto de Telecomunicações – Pólo de Aveiro, Campus Universitário de Santiago, 3810-193 Aveiro, all candidates shall be notified by email.
