Location: INESC TEC, Porto, Portugal

Work Area: Development of predictive control algorithms for energy communities with distributed energy storage.

Project overview: Analysis of the state of the art in optimal management of community energy storage and modelling of storages' system efficiency and degradation; Development of community energy management algorithms; Implementation and validation of computational tools with real data and in laboratorial environment.

Objectives: Development of energy community energy management strategies considering the integration of distributed energy storage for both interconnected and islanded modes. Implementation and testing in both real pilot and in INESC TEC laboratorial facilities

Academic Qualifications: Master's degree in electrical and computer engineering

Minimum profile required: Advanced knowledge about electric power systems. Advanced knowledge about optimization algorithms. Advanced Python programming skills.

Preference factors: Experience with the formulation and solving of energy management optimization problems at building or microgrid systems; Experience in programming embedded systems; Fluency in English and Portuguese (spoken and written)

Funding Entity: Fundo Europeu de Desenvolvimento Regional (FEDER) and by the Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalizao POCI-01-0247-FEDER-046109

Type of contract: Uncertain Term

The hiring shall be governed by what is stipulated in the legislation in force regarding fixed individual employment contracts and by INESC TEC norms.

a) Relevant Curriculum in the concerned field of this tender

b) Proven experience.
