Summary:
The present notice is intended to fill one (1) post of a contract (Reference ISQ_CTI_08), under the Investimento RE-C05-i02 – Missão Interface N.º03/C05-i02/2022 Contrato de Financiamento de Beneficiário Final Financiamento Base – Centro de Tecnologia e Inovação, for the exercise of applied scientific research and innovation activities in the scientific area of Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field. The work will focus on the development of projects on novel circular business models. The activities will involve the development of R&D projects, provision of services, and in technology and knowledge transfer actions.

The activities will involve:
- Conduct research on circular business models across various industries, identifying opportunities for resource efficiency, waste reduction, and closed-loop value creation.
- Analyze existing business models and develop strategies for transformation towards circularity, considering economic, environmental, and social dimensions.
- Evaluate the feasibility and impact of circular business models through case studies, life cycle assessment, and other sustainability assessment tools.
- Collaborate with business units, stakeholders, and policymakers to promote the adoption of circular business practices.
- Disseminate research findings through publications, presentations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in circular economy research and business practices.

Admission Requirements:
National, foreign and stateless candidates may apply to the competition if they hold a PhD degree in Sustainable Business, Circular Economy, Environmental Management, or a related field, and if they have a scientific and professional curriculum vitae that reveals a profile that is appropriate for the activity to be developed. If the PhD degree has been conferred by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the respective registration or recognition formalities, which must be fulfilled by the date of hiring.

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge and experience on:
- Strong understanding of circular economy principles, business model innovation, and sustainability assessment methodologies.
- Experience in conducting research on circular business models and applying circularity principles in different industries.
- Expertise in relevant research tools and methodologies, such as life cycle assessment, material flow analysis, and business model canvas.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in collaborative projects with Industry, in Research and Development and knowledge transfer.

Amount of monthly maintenance allowance:

The employee to be hired will be entitled to an employment contract with a fixed annual salary starting at the level 32 of the Single Remuneration Table, in accordance with the Curriculum Vitae and the experience presented and proven.

Payment will be made by bank transfer.

Selection Method:
Curricular evaluation in which the following factors will be considered:
i) Relevance of the academic curriculum (40%);
ii) Relevant previous experience in the area of work foreseen in the work plan of this competition (40%).
iii) Other relevant merits (20%);
If the jury deems it necessary, the three candidates best ranked according to the previous criteria may be called for interview. If the interview takes place, the percentage appreciation will be 90% for the curriculum evaluation and 10% for the interview.
