Overview

TheNanofabrication for Optoelectronic Applications (NOA) research group is dedicated to upscaling of nanotechnology in energy and optoelectronic devices. We are looking for a qualified PhD to join our team in coatings for solar cells and batteries under the projectMobilizadorBaterias 2030 from ANIfunded byProgramaOperacionalFatores de Competitividade (POFC)/Compete, with the code14/SI/2019 – PROGRAMASMOBILIZADORES.

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

  • Preparation of coatings for energy devices, namely solar cells and modules and batteries;

  • Benchmarking of encapsulation solutions with international standards;

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the other national partners involved (FEUP, LNEG, CENTI, dst Solar, BYSTEEL FS, OMNIFLOW and CMP) regarding experiments and reporting of the project.

MandatoryQualifications

Education

  • PhD Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Electronics, Engineering or related topics.

Experience

  • Chemistry related energy concepts involving batteries
  • Perovskite solar cells;

  • Thin film deposition and characterization;

  • Solar modules and encapsulation;

  • General concepts of renewable energy and storage.

Technical Skills

  • Thin film deposition and characterization

  • Optoelectronic devices

Other Skills

  • Electrochemistry of batteries and other power-to-x devices
  • Know-how of continuous improvement operations, for instance kaizen.

Personal Skills

Strong motivation to work both independently and as part of a team in an interdisciplinary environment, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and to meet deadlines;

Team work spirit;

Good communication skills;

“Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;

Highly organised and dynamic.

Note: Candidates should not have a labour contract with INL during the 12 months before the application.
