Overview
The Nanomaterials for Energy Storage and Conversion Research Group conducts both fundamental and application-oriented research on new nanomaterials and nanostructures that can be used for energy storage and conversion.
We are looking for a qualified Research Fellow to join our team in the project “Lithium-based compounds for battery components”, under the PRR framework, under the New Generation Storage Agenda.
Job Duties
The job duties will be the following:
- Performing the R&D activities as planned in the project;
- Collaborating with other academic and industry partners within the consortium on joint R&D;
- Regularly reporting to supervisor and project leader(s) on R&D progress;
- Publishing project results and communicating the results in project/professional meetings;
- Engaging in other project dissemination activities.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
- PhD in Electrochemistry, Materials Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Nanotechnology or other related field.
Experience and Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience in alkali metal batteries, particularly in lithium metal anodes;
- Extensive knowledge of battery chemistry and performance assessment;
- Track-record on alkali metal batteries, preferably on lithium metal anodes (e.g., artificial SEI, dendrite mitigation), in the form of scientific publications and/or patents as the leading author;
- Competences in project results dissemination (e.g., publications in scientific journals and presentations at professional meetings).

- Knowledge of mechanical/electrochemical engineering for large-scale fabrication of lithium metal anodes.

- Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;

- Good communication skills.
