Overview

The Nanochemistry Research Group at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory is dedicated to answering fundamental questions of chemistry, catalysis, and materials scienceinimportant energy and environmental challenges.

We are looking fora qualifiedResearch Engineer to join our dynamic team in the synthesis, fabrication, and characterization of novel electrode materials for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFC) as well as Solid Oxide Electrolysers(SOE)under collaborativeHorizon-Europe-funded KNOWSKITE-X project with the grant no. 101091534.

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

1.     Benchmark and synthetize novel materials for Solid Oxide Cells

2.     Research on the associated electrode fabrication and electrochemistry

3.     Characterization of the produced materials and electrodes

4.     Writing scientific reports and papers based on the obtained results

MandatoryQualifications

Education

  • MSc degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, or related areas.

Experience

  • Hands-on experience in chemistry and laboratory work;

  • Hands-on experience in characterisation techniques.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of chemical synthesis basics;

  • Knowledge of perovskite and oxide materials.

Other Skills

  • Attention to details, good observation skills;

  • Good project and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electrochemistry is a plus;

  • Experience in Solid Oxide Cells, such as SOFC & SOE, is a plus.

Personal Skills

  • Excellent team player in multidisciplinary environment;

  • Good writing, organisation and communication skills;

  • Strive to contribute with new ideas
