Overview

The Nanosafety Research Group is dedicated to research on developing methods to assess the toxicity and safety of nanomaterials, with a broad approach evaluating from possible effects on humans to environmental effects. The goal of the Nanosafety group is to evaluate cytotoxic, genotoxic, inflammation, local and systemic effects and perform in silico analysis.

Do you have experience in certification/ accreditation of laboratories or techniques? Would you like to be a key player in the implementation and application of GLPprinciples in Nanosafety Lab at INL?

INL is seeking a Research Engineer with expertise in the field of GLP, to implement the conditions of our Nanosafety Laboratory to receiveGLP certification. The selected candidate will be working with a multidisciplinary group within a project dealing with “Nanosafety”, under the SbDtoolBox – Nanotechnology-based tools and tests for Safer-by-Design nanomaterials project, funded by funded Comissão de Cooordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Norte (N2020), with reference number NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-00004.

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

1.     Helping on the implementation of all the requirements concerningGLP certification of the Nanosafety Laboratory

2.     Preparation of SOPs related to toxicological outcomes (i.e. such as cytotoxicity, immunotoxicity, and others)

3.     Preparation of dossiers related to management of equipment within the scope of GLP requirements

4.    Training users in the GLP-compliant use of equipment and facilities.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Master in relevant areas such as Toxicology, Pharmacology and Biomedical Sciences.

Experience

  • Experience in GLP, ISO and other type of similar certification processes will be considered a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Practical and/or theoretical knowledge of the basic techniques of cell culture and toxicological assessments will be evaluated positively.

Other Skills

  • Good writing skills in English language to deliver technical dossiers.

Personal Skills

  • “Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;
  • Problem Solving ability;
  • Ability to work independently and as team player;
  • Good communication skills.

Note: Candidates should not have a labour contract with INL during the 12 months before the application.
