Overview
The IMiNa RG is dedicated to the development of new MEMSsolutions based on silicon and flexible substrates sensors and their integration into functional prototypes.
We are looking for a highly-qualified, self-motivatedResearch Engineer to join our team in the design of the instrumentation and control circuitry fora new MEMSsensorsunder the project next Sensein collaboration with Bosch Car Multimedia Portugal, S.A., including MEMS inertial sensorsto achieve high sensitivity across an extended bandwidth and redundant and reliable MEMS sensors for brake-by-wire systems.
The candidate will be working in the packaging, readout and control electronics design and laboratory mechanical and electrical characterization of the sensors developed.
The job duties will be the following:
1. Design and simulatefront-end electronics for MEMS sensors (PCB level);
2. Develop characterization setups, including computer interface and data acquisition;
3. Electro-mechanical characterization of the sensor system (MEMS + electronics).
Education
- MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics Engineering or other related field.
Experience
Experience in circuit board design (PCB);
Experience in circuit design for sensor instrumentation.
Technical Skills
Knowledge in electronics design for sensor instrumentation;
Knowledge in circuit board design (PCB) forsensorsactuation and readout (e.g. Altium) (low noise approaches are valued);
Knowledge in low-level software (C/C++) for microcontrollers;
Knowledge in high-level programing for system interface/instrumentation control/data acquisition is valued;
Experience on laboratorial electrical and mechanical characterization.
Other Skills
- Grant and report writing;
Good track record of disseminating research results to the scientific community.
Previous experience FPGA-based digital design is highly valued;
Experience in building characterization setups, including computer interfacing (e.g. Labview, Matlab or Python) and data acquisition (Labview or Python) is highly valued.
