Public Notice - Doctoral Researcher Deadline: 11/12/2023 Under the terms of Dispatch No. 181/2023, of January 4, by delegation of powers, the Dean of the NOVA School of Sciences and Technology of the Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Prof. Doctor José Júlio Alves Alferes, makes it known that, according to dispach of 14/11/2023 it is open, international documentary competition, with internal the reference CT-PRR-23-2023-DCEA-NetZero, for the recruitment of one Research Assistant, under an uncertain term employment contract, nder an open-ended contract, in accordance with Regulation No. No. 393/2018, published in the Official Gazette No. 123, 2nd series of June 28, 2018, within the scope of the project “Montados Net-Zero: redes de inovação para aumentar resiliência e progredir para a neutralidade carbónica nos espaços rurais do Sul”, funded by PRR (registration number PRR - ID:401), "Programa de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR) - RE-C05-i03.01 – Agenda de Investigação e Inovação para a Sustentabilidade da Agricultura, Alimentação - N.º 17/C05- i03/2021 projetos I&D+I-Revitalização das Zonas Rurais - Montados Net Zero", and coordinated at FCT NOVA by Professor Rui Ferreira dos Santos. I - Workplace: The work will be carried out at the premises of the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (DCEA), located at the School of Science and Technology, NOVA University Lisbon (FCT NOVA), remotely or at any other place necessary for the development of the work plan, under the guidance of the Professor Rui Ferreira dos Santos. II - Activities and Functions: Collaboration in the research activities allocated to the CENSE - FCT NOVA team in the Montados Net Zero project, namely: 1. Activity 7.2.1.: Innovation and creativity networks - launch of the “Laboratório Vivo do Montado (LV)”, namely in Task Co-construction of the LV agenda with identification of actions and distribution of responsibilities and tasks for its implementation; and in Task Training, communication, demonstration and dissemination activities of scientific-based activities resulting from actions implemented in the LV and that meet the needs of management, conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services of the Montado, and co-construction and identification of new network business opportunities. 2. Activity 7.6.1.: Economic assessment of the multifunctionality of the Montado, namely in Task Assessment of available data and selection of the bioeconomic model for the economic assessment of the multifunctional management of the Montado; in Task Parameterization of the model with values of the selected production units and association of producers; and in Task Validation of the model with current and alternative scenarios at the farm level. III - Remuneration level: In accordance with the salary scale set out in Annex I of Regulation no. 393/2018, of 28 June, this tender procedure is open for salary level 1/36A, which corresponds to a monthly salary of € 2,385.99, in full dedication. IV - Modality and duration: 1. The uncertain-term contract is for a period of 6 months, or for the duration of the funding, but may not exceed the maximum limit of 48 months, under the terms of Article 148(5) of the Labour Code. 2. The termination of funding, the extinction of the project or the completion of the tasks that are the subject of this tender procedure will determine the expiry of the contract, which will take place with the notice referred to in Article 345(1) of the Labour Code, i.e. if the termination is expected, the employer must notify the employee of the termination at least seven, 30 or 60 days in advance, depending on whether the contract lasted up to six months, from six months to two years or longer. 3. Fixed-term contracting is based on the execution of a specific, precisely defined and non-lasting service. V – Requirements for admission of candidates 1 - Applicants to this call may be national, foreign or stateless candidates, aged 18 years or over who, that at the end of the deadline for submitting applications: a) Hold a Master's degree in the area of Environmental Engineering or a similar area, or in Economics; b) Have scientific knowledge and/or experience in the scientific areas of the activities that will be developed in the project; c) Have knowledge and/or experience in organizing dissemination and communication events; d) Have strong motivation to work with stakeholders and in an interdisciplinary team. VI - Application procedure 1. The application must be completed by filling out the respective application form, which is available at ; 2. Applications may be submitted in Portuguese or English; 3. The application is accompanied by the following documents: a) Updated Curriculum Vitae; b) Motivation letter; c) Evidence essential for the verification of admission requirements; d) Certificates of qualifications, duly registered and / or recognized in Portugal. VII - Submission of applications 1. The application documents must be submitted between 17/11/2023 and 11/12/2023 (15 working days). 2. VIII — Evaluation parameters 1. The selection of the Research Assistant to be hired will be carried out through the evaluation of his/her scientific and curricular career, under the terms of paragraph 1 of Article 37 of Decree-Law No. 124/99 of April 20th, approving the Statute of the Scientific Research Career and Regulation No. 393/2018, published in the Diário da República No. 123, 2nd series of June 28th 2018, with the following selection criteria and respective weighting: a) Master's area relevant to the project (weight: 15%); b) Knowledge and/or scientific experience in management and conservation of biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services in Montado, and economic valuation techniques (weight: 30%); c) Knowledge and/or experience in organizing dissemination and communication events (weight: 10%); d) Motivation to work in with stakeholders and in an interdisciplinary team (weight: 25%). e) Work experience in the field of the water-energy-food-ecosystems nexus (weight: 20%). 2. The selection methods to be used will be the following: evaluation of the curriculum and documents specified in VI, taking into account the Admission Requirements specified in V. All selection criteria will be graded in the scale 0 to 20. Candidates who obtain a rating above 15 in the curriculum evaluation will be selected for an eventual interview, after which the final selection will be made based on a valuation of 30% for the interview and 70% for the curriculum evaluation. IX — Reasons for exclusion Candidates who do not comply with the provisions of point V will not be admitted to the competition procedure, and candidates who do not submit their application using the form, or who do not submit all the documents referred to in point VI, or who submit illegible, incorrectly filled out, or invalid documents, will be excluded without further consideration. It also has the option of requiring any candidate, in case of doubt and for the purposes of admission to the tender procedure, to present documents proving the respective declarations. X - Evaluation of Applications The evaluation of the applications will be made by a jury and will follow the procedure established in the terms of paragraph 1 of Article 37 of Decree Law No. 124/99 approving the Statute of the Scientific Research Career and by Regulation No. 393/2018 published in the Diário da República No. 123, 2nd series of June 28th . XI — Notifications and Hearing of Interested Parties 1. A prior hearing shall be held, under the terms of the Administrative Procedure Code, for candidates who have been rejected, and for candidates who have been placed on the ranking list of candidates who cannot be filled for the position open for competition.
