Selection process

Selection Methods:

Candidates who do not meet the previously mentioned criteria will be excluded. Candidates who do not submit a graduation certificate will also be excluded. The evaluation will focus on the assessment of academic background and professional experience in the areas mentioned above. The evaluation process will include two phases. In the first phase, the CV and the candidate's motivation will be evaluated. Subsequently, candidates who, in this first evaluation, achieve a score not lower than 12 points on a scale of 0 to 20 points will be called for a knowledge and skills assessment interview. The weighting for the final evaluation will be 50% for the curriculum evaluation and 50% for the interview. Candidates will be classified, and the candidate with the highest score will be accepted. In case of the first selected candidate's inability to accept the fellowship, the option will be the second-ranked candidate (and so on) according to the list ordered by the Jury of the recruitment process. However, the jury reserves the right to decide that none of the available candidates meets the minimum requirements to fill the vacant position, in which case a new recruitment process must be carried out.

Additional comments

Work Plan:

The project "DURABLE - Delivering a Unified Research Alliance of Biomedical and public health Laboratories against Epidemics" coordinates a global collaboration based on a network of laboratories and institutes for the diagnosis, research, preparation, and response to current and future health threats for the benefit of citizens in the EU and worldwide. Specifically, the DURABLE project will: i) develop and apply methods for identifying (new and known) threats to Public Health; ii) coordinate, integrate, analyze, and share the output for rapid and direct use in public health decision making; iii) develop studies to guide further evidence gathering in response to alerts

The activities of INSA in the DURABLE project cover various domains, from the diagnosis, characterization, and monitoring of pathogenic agents to training activities and preparation for responding to new emergencies.

The work plan for the fellowship will focus on:

i) Identification and/or evaluation of new targets for compounds with anti-viral activity, including the development, validation, and/or implementation of new approaches/tools for:

a. Conservation studies of viral proteins, particularly applied to (re)emerging viruses;

b. Characterization of crystallographic structures of proteins of interest from (re)emerging viruses;

c. Prediction of drugability and properties of antiviral drug targets, focusing on structural and non-structural proteins of interest from (re)emerging viruses;

d. In silico prediction of binding sites and interaction points of new drugs with potential antiviral targets from (re)emerging viruses;

e. In silico screening of promising antiviral compounds.
