Offer Description

Applications are open for 1 Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship, within the framework of project/R&D institution CITIESTWINS - 2022.15504.MIT, with the financial support of FCT/MCTES through national funds under the Programa MIT Portugal 2022

Workplan: The work to be carried out focuses on modeling the maintenance needs of urban buildings in combination with energy efficiency concerns.

Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 9 months. It’s expected to begin in February/2024. The scholarship contract is not renewable.

    Benefits

    Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/Tabela-de-Valores-SMM_2023.pdf ), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is €1741, being the payment method by Wire Transfer.


    Eligibility criteria

    Admission Requirements:

  • To hold a PhD degree obtained in the 3 years previously to the submission of the fellowship application;
  • To have carried out the research work that led to the PhD degree in a different entity from the host institution of the fellowship;
  • Not to exceed, with this fellowship contract, including the possible renovations, an accumulated period of 3 years in this type of fellowship, continuously or with interruptions.

  • Selection process

    Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: curricular assessment - 60%, and individual interview - 40%. The curricular evaluation will be carried out according to the following components: enrolment and classification in a higher education course in Civil Engineering (40%); experience in the area of durability and maintenance of constructions (40%); scientific publications in the area of durability and maintenance of constructions (20%). The final evaluation results from the sum of the curricular evaluation and the interview evaluation. If none of the candidates has the appropriate profile, the scholarship will not be awarded.

    Composition of the selection Jury: Dr. Ana Silva, Dr. Maria Paula Mendes and Professor José Dinis Silvestre.

    Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.

    Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal . A complaint may be lodged from the final decision within 15 working days, or an appeal to the Executive Board of IST-ID within 30 working days, both counted from the respective notification
