Title: Development of methods to design gears with optimized dynamic behaviour

1. Project Description:

This project appears in the sequence of ongoing fundamental research work on the dynamics of gear systems and gearboxes. Gear systems and gearboxes present complex dynamic behaviour that is tied to the main gearbox excitation source: the gear mesh stiffness variations. With the increasing necessity to design optimized gearboxes with ever higher efficiency and power density, comes the necessity to have higher fidelity and faster models that need to be experimentally validated.

2. Objectives:

The main objective of the project is to extend and develop existing research work on gear system and gearbox dynamics models. The experimental validation of the results is also an objective.

3.Type and duration of contract:

Within the framework of Decree-Law no. 57/2016, of August 29, and taking into account the legal regime to which it refers an international selection tender for one vacancy of Junior Researcher is open funded by national funds through the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P.

This is a research position to pursue scientific research activities within the scope of the Institutional Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus - 2nd edition and under a work contract with non-fixed term due to start in April 2024, under the regime of exclusivity. The contract is established for a maximum duration of 48 (forty-eight) months.
