Offer Description

The Egas Moniz School of Health & Science has opened an offer position for 1 Research Fellowship, within the scope of the R&D project REFª 101095408 “BEST-COST | Burden of disease based methods for estimating the socio-economic cost of environmental stressors”, funded by Horizon Europe under the following conditions:
Scientific area: Health Sciences
Requirements:
§ Master in Public Health;
§ Competences in quantitative data analysis;
§ Skills of communication and written and oral communication;
§ Excellent communication and written and oral expression in English;
§ Skills of organization and autonomy.
Preferential factors (optional):
§ Previous experience in the context of international research projects, especially in the area of Public Health;
§ Previous experience in gathering and anaylsis of quantitative data;
§ Previous experience in burden of disease studies.
Working plan:
- Data collection, design and update of databases;
- Planning and implementation of burden of disease studies;
- Writing reports, scientific articles and other necessary documents;
- Support project management and collaboration with team members.

Workplace and scientific supervision:
The work will be carried out at Egas Moniz School of Health & Science (Campus Universitário, Quinta da Granja, Monte de Caparica, 2829 - 511 Caparica) and NOVA National School of Public Health, NOVA University Lisbon (Avenida Padre Cruz, 1600-560 Lisboa), under the scientific supervision of Professor Ricardo Assunção (Egas Moniz).
Duration of the Research Fellowship(s):
The duration of the research fellowship will be 6 months, starting in April 2024, renewable but not exceeding the planned duration of the project.
Monthly maintenance allowance:
The amount of the fellowship is 1 259,64 €, according to the values for research fellowships for master students or bachelor students enrolled in a master's degree or in a course that does not lead to an academic degree, according to the values established in the Regulations for Research Fellowships of the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P..
Selection methods:
The selection methods will be the following: Curriculum evaluation (100%) in case there is no need for an interview. If an interview is considered necessary, both components will be weighted: Curriculum evaluation (70%) and interview (30%).

2. Curriculum Vitae, Europass format, detailed, dated and signed;
3. Documents evidencing that the candidate is in accordance with the requirements, proof of academic degrees with the final mark, proof of enrolment in a master's degree or in a course that does not lead to attainment an academic degree;
4. Proof of academic degrees and the respective recognitions when they have been awarded by foreign higher education institutions (for more information please go to https://www.dges.gov.pt/ ).
The documents required for the submission of the application will only be admitted if submitted within the deadline of application.
Communication of the results:
The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by e-mail, until 90 days after the final date for submission of applications.
Candidates will be notified by e-mail within 10 working days, and if no reply is received, the list of candidates will become final. Applicants may develop a complaint against the final decision within 15
working days or appeal to the highest executive body of the funding body within 30 working days of the notification of the final decision, in accordance with the provisions of Article 12 of the Regulations for Research Grants of Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P..
