Overview

The Food Processing and Nutrition RG is keenly dedicated to the exploration of nanotechnology as a means to engineer innovative biopolymeric packaging solutions that incorporate bacteriophages, and endeavours to expand its research to encompass the clinical field.

We are looking for a qualified junior fellow to join our team in the fabrication of bacteriophage-loaded microneedles under the project GOLDMINE, with the code TEC_PROPR_230215.

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

• Bacteriophage and bacterial maintenance
• Microneedle fabrication
• Encapsulation and release studies
• Efficacy testing

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

• MSc in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.

Experience

• Hands-on experience in laboratory work
• Hands-on experience in microbiology
• Hands-on experience in bacteriophage

Technical Skills

• Handling microorganisms, biosafety procedures, aseptic techniques, microscopy, analytical thinking.

Other Skills

• Attention to detail and follow detailed procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in encapsulation techniques
• Experience in development and characterization of microneedles

Personal Skills

• “Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;
• Problem Solving ability;
• Customer orientation;
• Ability to work independently and as team player;
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
