Overview
The Food Processing and Nutrition RG is keenly dedicated to the exploration of nanotechnology as a means to engineer innovative biopolymeric packaging solutions that incorporate bacteriophages, and endeavours to expand its research to encompass the clinical field.
We are looking for a qualified junior fellow to join our team in the fabrication of bacteriophage-loaded microneedles under the project GOLDMINE, with the code TEC_PROPR_230215.
Job Duties
The job duties will be the following:
- Bacteriophage and bacterial maintenance
- Microneedle fabrication
- Encapsulation and release studies
- Efficacy testing
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
- MSc in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
Experience
- Hands-on experience in laboratory work
- Hands-on experience in microbiology
- Hands-on experience in bacteriophage
Technical Skills
- Handling microorganisms, biosafety procedures, aseptic techniques, microscopy, analytical thinking.
Other Skills
- Attention to detail and follow detailed procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in encapsulation techniques
- Experience in development and characterization of microneedles
Personal Skills
- “Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;
- Problem Solving ability;
- Customer orientation;
- Ability to work independently and as team player;
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
