1 . By order of the Lord President of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, the use of own jurisdiction, pursuant to section d) of paragraph 1 of article. 92 of Law no. 62/2007, dated 10th of September and in subparagraph d) of no. 1 of art. 27 of the IPB Statutes, approved by Normative Dispatch no. 62/2008, published in the Diário da República, 2nd Series, no. 236, of December 5 , it was decided to open a competition for international selection, of 1 (one) PhD researcher position , in Biotechnology , Food Science and Technology , Health Pharmacy, or related areas, under a fixed-term employment contract in public functions for a period of 3 years, renewable under the terms of the law, with a view to developing research activities within the scope of the project : “ Aquae Vitae – Thermal water as a source of life and health ” , financed by the La Caixa Foundation and the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP, under the “Promove programme. The future of the interior” .

  • Applicable legislation:
    • Decree-Law No. 57/2016, of August 29, in the wording given by Law No. 57/2017, of July 19 , which approves a regime for the hiring of doctorates , aimed at stimulating scientific and technological employment in all knowledge areas;
    • Regulatory Decree No. 11-A/2017, of December 29;
    • General Labor Law in Public Functions (LTFP), approved in annex to Law No. 35/2014, of 20 June, in its current wording.
  • Under Article 16 of Decree-Law No. 57/2016 , of 29 of agost the, in the wording of Law No. 57/2017, of July 19 , this tender procedure is exempted from the authorization members of the Government responsible for the areas of finance and Public Administration, namely that referred to in paragraph 3 of article 7 of the LTFP , from obtaining the prior favorable opinion of the members of the Government responsible for the areas of finance and Public Administration, referred to in paragraph 5 of article 30 of the LTFP and the recruitment procedure for workers in a situation of requalification, referred to in article 265 of the LTFP.
  • In accordance with article 13 of Decree-Law No. 57/2016, of 29 August, in its current wording, the competition jury has the following composition:
  • President: Lillian Bouçada de Barros , Assistant Researcher at the Mountain Research Center;

    Effective member: Sandrina Alves Heleno , Junior Researcher at the Mountain Research Center;

    Effective Member: Maria Jose Alves , professor at Adjunt the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança

    Substitute Member: Joana Amaral, professor at Adjunt the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança;

    Substitute member: Rui Vaz de Abreu, Adjunct Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança .

  • The workplace is located at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (Mountain Research Center).
  • Gross monthly remuneration: (Euro) 2134.73, corresponding to level 33 of the single remuneration table, approved by Ordinance No. 1553-C/2008, of December 31st.
  • The competition can be opponents (the) candidate (the) national, foreign (as) and stateless persons who are a PhD degree holders (a ) in the areas scientific s referred to above , and holders (as) a scientific and professional CV that reveals an adequate profile for the activity to be developed. Opponents of the competition who hold the degree of doctor obtained abroad must prove the respective recognition under the terms of Decree- Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, or add proof that they requested it, without prejudice to, at the time of hiring, such recognition has been officially granted, under penalty of exclusion.
  • The general requirements for admission to the competition are those defined in article 17 of the LTFP and the special requirements defined in the previous point.
  • The selection is carried out through the methods “ evaluation of the scientific and curricular path ” of the candidates and “interview”.
  • Pursuant to article 5 of Decree-Law No. 57/2016, of 29 August, in its current wording, the method " evaluation of the scientific and curricular path " focuses on relevance, quality and timeliness:
  • a) Scientific and technological production of the last five years considered most relevant by the candidate;

    b) Applied or practice-based research activities carried out in the last five years and considered to have the greatest impact by the candidate;

    c) The activities of extension and dissemination of knowledge developed in the last five years, namely in the context of promoting culture and scientific practices, considered of greatest relevance by the candidate;

    d) Management activities of science, technology and innovation programmes, or experience in the observation and monitoring of the scientific and technological system or higher education, in Portugal or abroad.

  • The evaluation referred to in the previous point aims to assess the candidate's experience in chemical characterization ; in the nutritional profile and bioactive potential of natural matrices and natural mineral water; in the optimization of different extraction methodologies , namely green and sustainable processes ; in the development of functional ingredients and preservatives; in the development of natural-based foods and cosmetics.
  • The period of five years referred to in number 10 may be increased by the jury, at the candidate's request, when based on suspension of scientific activity for socially protected reasons, namely, for reasons of parental leave, prolonged serious illness, and others situations of unavailability for work legally protected.
  • S -interferon necessarily considered and po nderados the following criteria :
    • C1) Integrated assessment of the candidate's scientific production in the last five years, based on an overall view of the merits of his/her scientific and curricular path, namely the coherence and quality of the CV; the diversity of quality scientific indicators including books and book chapters, articles in relevant journals in the area; publishing publications; scientific orientation experience; international internships ; awards, scholarships and distinctions; participation in relevant juries and experience, specifically in the respective scientific area.
    • C2) Assessment of applied or practice-based research activities developed in the last five years and considered to have the greatest impact by the candidate, as well as extension and knowledge dissemination activities, including coordination or participation in applied or based research projects. in practice; technology transfer actions; patents; organization of scientific events; participation with communications in scientific events; participation in science dissemination and dissemination activities ; and participation in projects of national and international scientific, professional, social or cultural organizations of interest to CIMO's mission.
  • The candidates in the first 10 positions will be subject to an interview (C3).
  • The weighting of the evaluation methods will be as follows :
  • C1) 50%

    C2) 40%

    C3) 10%

    The final classification (CF) will be determined by the following formula:

    CF = 0.5 *C1 + 0.4*C2 + 0.1*C3

  • The candidates' final classification system is expressed on a scale from 0 to 20, considering the valuation up to the hundredths. Candidates who score less than 9.5 in one of the methods, or who miss the interview when applicable, are excluded from the procedure.
  • The jury deliberates through roll call vote based on the selection criteria adopted and disclosed, abstentions not being allowed.
  • Minutes are drawn up of the jury's meetings, which contain a summary of what took place in them, as well as the votes cast by each of the members and respective grounds, and are provided to candidates whenever requested.
  • After completing the application of the selection criteria, the jury proceeds to prepare the ordered list of successful candidates with their respective classification.
  • The final decision of the jury is approved by the highest director of the institution, who is also responsible for deciding on the hiring.
  • Formalization of applications:
  • 21.1 Applications are formalized by means of a request addressed to the President of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, which contains the identification of this notice and respective reference, full name, number and date of the identity card/Citizen Card/civil identification number, number of tax identification , date and place of birth, marital status, profession, residence and contact address, including email address and telephone number.

    21.2 The application is accompanied by documents proving the conditions provided for in points 7 and 8 for admission to this competition, namely:

    a) Copy of certificate or diploma;

    b) PhD thesis;

    c) Detailed curriculum vitae , structured in accordance with the items in Annex A;

    d) Other documents relevant to the assessment of qualification in a related scientific area;

    e) If you live more than 300 km from Bragança, and if you wish, the candidate may request the possibility of conducting the interview by teleconference.

    f) Other documents.

    21.3 Candidates present their applications and supporting documents, preferably in digital format, in PDF format, to the email address [email protected] , in person at the Expedient Section, Building of the Central Services of IPB, website to the Santa Apolónia Campus , 5300-2 5 3 Bragança , during office hours, or by post to the same address. When sent by post, the mail must be registered, with acknowledgment of receipt, sent by the last day of the opening of the competition, which is fixed at 10 working days after the publication of this Notice.

  • Candidates who incorrectly formalize their application or who do not demonstrate the requirements of this competition are excluded from admission to the competition. The jury has the power to require any candidate, in case of doubt, to present documents proving their statements.
  • False statements made by candidates will be punished under the law.
  • The list of admitted and excluded candidates, as well as the final classification list, are posted at the IPB Central Services Building, located at the Santa Apolónia Campus, 5300-2 5 3 Bragança , advertised on the IPB website, and the candidates are notified by email with receipt of delivery of the notification.
  • Prior Hearing and Deadline for Final Decision: under the terms of article 121 of the Code of Administrative Procedure, after being notified, candidates have 10 working days to give their opinion. Within a period of up to 90 days, counting from the deadline for the submission of applications, the jury's final decisions are made.
  • This competition is exclusively intended to fill the indicated vacancies, and may be terminated until the approval of the final ranking list of candidates and lapsed with the respective occupation of the jobs on offer.
