CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR ONE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP FOR THE PROJECT “CIDADANIAPELOCLIMA: CRIANDO PONTES ENTRE CIDADANIA E CIÊNCIA PARA A ADAPTAÇÃO CLIMÁTICA” (CLIMACTIC)” - REF.ª NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000071, AT THE FACULTY OF PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATIONAL SCIENCES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF PORTO
The Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCEUP) hereby opens this Call for Applications for one research grant for the project “CidadaniaPeloClima: Criando Pontes entre Cidadania e Ciência para a Adaptação Climática” (ClimActiC) (ref.ª NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000071), financed by NORTE 2020 – Programa Operacional Regional do Norte and developed at Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPCEUP) of the University of Porto in the Research Group on Social Psychology.

To apply for the research grant, applicants must comply with the following requirement, for which documentary evidence must be provided:

If the candidate holds a degree awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution, in accordance with the provisions of article 25 of Decree-Law no. 66/2018 of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions and Article 4 (2) (e) of Decree-Law no. 60/2018 of 3 August, and any formalities established therein be fulfilled up to the date of the contracting act.

5. Applicable Legislation and Regulations:
The present call is governed by the FCT Regulations for Research Fellowships approved by the Regulation nº n.º 950/2019, the Research Fellowship Holder Statute (approved by Law no. 40/2004, of 18th of August, in its current version), the University of Porto Regulations for Research Fellowships approved by the Regulation n.º 184/2021 (published in the Series II of the DR, of 3rd March), the Decree-Law No. 66/2018 of 16 August (Legal regime for recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions) and the Code of Administrative Procedure (CPA), approved by Decree-Law No. 4/2015, of January 7.
6. Workplace:
The workplace will be at Center for Psychology of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the University of Porto, under the scientific supervision of Prof. São Luís Castro and Doctor Alessandra S. Souza.
7. Duration:
The scholarship will last for 6 months. The contract, in an exclusive basis, can be renewed for equal or different periods depending on institutional need and the availability of financial resources, until the maximum duration of the project.
8. Monthly maintenance allowance amount:
The monthly maintenance allowance is 1.144,64€, according to FCT. Payment will be made by FPCEUP by bank transference. In addition, the grant holder will be covered by personal accident insurance.
9. Evaluation methods:
Curriculum Assessment (CA) and, if so intended by the jury, an interview (I) to the three best classified candidates of the CA. The final classification, on a scale of zero to 100, will be obtained using the following formula: 0.8 x CA+ 0.2 x I.
If no interviews take place, the final classification will correspond to that of the CA.
The CA will consider the following evaluation points and ratio criteria:
In the interview, if it takes place, aspects related to the previous research experience and motivation for the scientific work of the candidates (20%) will be evaluated.
In case of withdrawal of the selected candidate, he/she will be replaced by the next one in the approved final ranking list, which for all purposes constitutes the recruitment reserve list and which will have the duration until February 2023. In the event that none of the candidates demonstrate that they have the profile indicated for carrying out the work plan, the jury reserves the right not to award the scholarship to the competition.

11. Disclosure of the results:
Final results will be communicated by email to the address provided by the candidates in the application form (CV/Motivation letter).
In compliance with the provisions of the Article 121 of the Code of Administrative Procedure (“Código do Procedimento Administrativo”), after being notified, candidates have 10 working days to submit a formal rebuttal.
The final decision must be taken within a maximum period of 60 working days after the conclusion of the preliminary hearing of interested parties or of the public consultation.

In order to guarantee the reading of all documents, the preferred recording format is the Portable Document Format (.pdf). Files must be named with the candidate's first and last name and must not exceed 5 MB, as a whole. These can be compressed in .zip format.
