Champalimaud Foundation is actively looking for a Research Grants Manager. You need to be passionate about science and ready to be challenged daily while you help bring some of the most promising research ideas in neuroscience, behaviour, physiology and cancer into reality.

By joining the Strategic Research Development team at CF, you shall dive into an expanding research ecosystem, the success of which is visible in its internationality, scientific output, entrepreneurial spirit, and competitiveness in the securing of extramural funds for research. Within the team, you shall find a unique collaborative environment allowing you to further develop your professional career at the interface of research and management.

Skills/Qualifications

The sought profile

 You are an energetic and goal-oriented individual with:

*Outstanding team working skills;

*A high capacity to work with tight deadlines;

*A sound scientific background, with a degree in a relevant research field (e.g. medical and health sciences, life sciences, exact sciences, human sciences) and research experience (at least equivalent to a PhD degree);

*Written and spoken English proficiency; Portuguese proficiency preferable;

*Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Experience in developing and transforming ideas into grant proposals - individual or collaborative - will be favourably considered but it is not mandatory.

At the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, the members of the Champalimaud Research Programme (CR) and the Champalimaud Clinical Centre (CCC), work together to investigate fundamental biological processes and search for effective solutions to alleviate the burden of oncological, neurological and mental diseases, while providing state-of-the-art care to the patients of the CCC. With 495 members, including group leaders, postdocs, PhD and MSc students, research technicians and highly specialised research staff, the CR community encompasses 39 nationalities.

The Strategic Research Development Team is responsible for fundraising for Research, Innovation and Technology Development at CF, by scouting the funding collaborative opportunities landscape, co-design, co-development and co-launch of strategic programmes and projects.
