Offer Description
A competition is open for the award of a Design Research Grant. The work will be carried out within the scope of the Human Cities/SMOTIES research project, Creative works with small and remote places 2020/2024 at the University of Madeira (UMa).
The research activities will take place in the Art and Design department of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, under the guidance of Professor Susana Gonzaga.
The competition is open under the following conditions:
I. Scientific Area: Design
II. Admission requirements: Degree in Design, enrollment in the Master's Degree in Interactive Media Design and research experience in the area opening the competition.
III. Work plan: Development of co-design projects, graphic communication, and organization of events.
IV. Applicable legislation and regulations: Regulation of Research Grants of the University of Madeira, Statute of the Research Fellow in its current wording and Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology.
V. Workplace: The work will be carried out at the Penteada Campus of the University of Madeira, Funchal, in the Department of Art and Design under the scientific guidance of Prof. Doctor Susana Gonzaga
SAW. Duration of the scholarship: The contract will last four months.
VII. Value of the monthly maintenance subsidy: The amount of the scholarship corresponds to €990.98, according to the table of scholarship values awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the country (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ).
VIII. Selection methods: The selection process will be developed based on the following criteria and weighting factors.
a- Curriculum assessment, with a weight of 40%
b- Motivation letter, with a weight of 10%
c- Interview with the candidate, with a weight of 50%.

X. Publication/Notification Form of Results: Admission lists as well as the results of each selection method and final sorting lists will be advertised on the Human Resources Unit page - University of Madeira Baggins Core, http: // urh.uma.pt/, with candidates notified via email.
XI. Application deadline and form of submission of applications
a) The competition is open within 10 working days after the publication of the Notice;
b) Applications must necessarily include the following documents: - Motivation letter, demonstrating the candidate's suitability for each of the evaluation criteria; curriculum vitae and degree certificate (and/or letter confirming completion), including final grade, proof of enrollment in the master's degree in Interactive Media Design.
c) Applications must be delivered in person during the period from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the Human Resources Unit – Scholarship Center of the University of Madeira, located at the Colégio dos Jesuítas, Rua dos Ferreiros, 9000-081 Funchal or by post to the same Service and address and also by email to [email protected] , addressed to the President of the Jury, with the reference of the scholarship in the subject.
