This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious academic to join Forward College, a new, innovative and pan-European university based in Paris, Berlin and Lisbon. We’re looking for an Assistant Professor in International Relations and/or Development Studies for our Lisbon Campus to

Forward College We are committed to advancing knowledge and promoting excellence in teaching, research and impact.

Our approach reflects this commitment:

  • We attract bright and motivated students who wish to achieve academic excellence
  • We provide 100% small group tuition for passionate teachers to make an impact and develop close interactions with their students.
  • We employ a ‘flipped classroom’ approach, with teaching and tutoring accounting for around 40% of your week during term time.
  • Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to research, pedagogical development or other career development activities mainly outside teaching terms.
  • Our students embark on a multi-city programme as part of their studies (‘3 years – 3 cities’), spending a year each in Lisbon, Paris, and Berlin.

Beyond academic excellence, the College also nurtures other forms of intelligence: social intelligence to engage people across different fields of expertise and backgrounds; emotional intelligence to manage one’s balance, be mindful of others, and nurture creativity; and practical intelligence to implement projects effectively, harness technology, and deliver lasting change.

This is a tenure track appointment leading to a permanent position upon successful completion of tenure, usually after 24 months.
