Offer Description
Łukasiewicz Research Network - Institute of Microelectronics and Photonics (Łukasiewicz-IMiF) conducts the research and development in the field of advanced microelectronic and photonic technologies. It has unique technological laboratories and intellectual capital that enable it to undertake the scientific work and run the projects aimed at increasing the innovation of Polish enterprises, simultaneously creating a high-tech knowledge environment in the field of innovative materials’ production along with the technology and design of microelectronics and photonic devices, gallium nitride technology, LTCC technology, printed electronics and medical and environmental sensors. Łukasiewicz–IMiF runs numerous projects financed from domestic and foreign funds annually, the goals of which are to increase the innovation of the Polish economy.
Main responsibilities:
- Realization of tasks in the “CEUS-UNISONO” project - Dual-core asymmetric fibers for ultrafast single-shot spectroscopy
- Conducting research related to special fiber optics and spectroscopy of ultrafast processes
- Construction of fiber optic and optical systems
- Modeling of fiber optic and optical systems
- Designing and conducting experiments (short pulse fiber optics), ultrafast diagnostics in the spectrum and time domain
- Dissemination of research results in the form of publications;
- Preparation of technical reports on work carried out;
- Cooperation and supervision of PhD students' work
- Cooperation with technologists and technicians;
- Cooperation with foreign partners in the field of time domain spectroscopy (TDS)

- Master Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications
- Master's degree and 2 years' experience in the R&D sector. Preferred candidates with a PhD in physics, photonics, electronics, materials engineering or related fields
- Knowledge of research techniques used for characterization of optical fibres and in infrared spectroscopy
- Knowledge of fiber optic modeling techniques, including structured ones (linear and non-linear properties)
- Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: (1) fiber optics, (2) nonlinear optics, (3) ultrashort pulse physics, (4) spectroscopy
- Knowledge of Matlab, programming and modeling of physics experiments
- Knowledge of the English language at B2 level or higher
- Ability to solve technical problems
- Creativity
- Manual skills to work with small samples/elements under an optical microscope
