  • Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, is looking for a candidate for the position of assistant professor in the Department of Engineering and Technology of Chemical Processes (Faculty of Chemistry).

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting didactic classes: Fundamentals of Chemical Technology; Chemical Technology Raw Materials and Processes of Inorganic Industry, Small-Scale Production of Chemicals, Chemical Technology, Chemistry, Quality Control of Raw Materials and Products, Inorganic Technical Chemistry, Calculations in Technical Chemistry, Fundamentals of Inorganic Chemistry, Chemical Reactor Engineering, Process Modeling, Technical Safety.
  • Conducting scientific research in the field of modeling and kinetics of chemical processes and research on issues of unit operations and unit processes in chemical engineering and chemical technology, processes of inorganic chemical industry, in particular issues in the field of methods of intensification processes of their stability and technical safety (including in the presence of ammonium nitrate) in the production of fertilizers both containing macronutrients (N, P2 O5 , K2 O) as well as  micronutrients, including in the form of chelates.

Specific Requirements
  • Higher technical education.
  • Good, fluent speaking Polish language skills.
  • Advanced proceedings for a doctoral degree in a subject related to the area of anticipated research.
  • Ability to support research, teaching and laboratory workstations used in the research work of inorganic chemical technology processes.
  • Knowledge of the following measuring techniques, with particular emphasis on chemical analytics in fertilizer problems, including: thermal analysis (TG, DTA, DSC, ARC, APTAC) ,mass spectrometry (MS), atomic absorption spectrometry (ASA), potentiometry, voltamperometry, flame photometry.
  • Ability to use computer software used for research, design and teaching purposes, including Proteus, KineticsNeo.
  • Knowledge of issues of designing scientific experiments and statistical analysis of research results combined with the ability to use professional Statistica software.
  • Knowledge of issues: Sustainable Development in chemical technology.
  • Knowledge of reactor processes, chemical kinetics including that relating to thermal decomposition processes of materials.
  • Experience in conducting scientific research on the production of specialty fertilizers, coated, modified with the participation of micronutrients.
  • Teaching experience in chemical technology and engineering.
  • Good command of foreign languages (English at least B2 level).

  • Declaration of the candidate that in the case of winning the competition, Wrocław University of Science and Technology will be the primary place of employment*
  • *If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article 125(3) of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with art. 125 sec. 1 of the Act, taking into account art. 125 sec. 2 of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rector's consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.

    Applications of persons sending their documents without indicating a specific reference number and sent after the deadline for submission will not be considered.

    All information on the course of the competition is provided by the assistant/HR assistant at the e-mail address [email protected] .

    The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be 3.00 pm on the day indicated in the information about the competition. Receipt of the documents from the candidate will be confirmed by the assistant/HR assistant via e-mail to the address indicated in the application.

    Candidates' applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee appointed Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, WUST. After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up from the assistant/HR assistant within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.

    The University stipulates that the competition may not be concluded.
