Description:

DWARC (Dealing with a resurgent China) is a 3-year research project implemented by 9 renowned think tanks and universities located in seven EU member states, under the Horizon Europe program. As part of DWARC, SWPS University is responsible for research in the field of culture, included in WP2 - Society and culture. The main aim of the research of Chinese cultural sector and most recent cultural works in literature, theatre, film and visual arts is estimating the extent of discrepancy between the official discourse and voices of the artists, as well as describing important social themes and tropes which might not find their way to the official discourse.

Responsibilities:

  • Active participation in data collection – Chinese cultural sector, Chinese cultural policy
  • Analysis and interpretation of collected data – analysis of documents and data about Chinese cultural industries
  • Participation in preparation dissemination reports for Work Package “Society and culture” (WP2), including academic papers, and policy briefs
  • Participation in production of webinars and podcasts, and well as social media actions popularising research findings
  • Participation in WP2 and consortium meetings when required: in person and online
