The Research Assistant Professor will work in an interdisciplinary team that will develop new ultralight magnesium alloys with increased corrosion resistance. Applicant will be responsible for independent research, cooperation with other team members, as well as cooperation with other scientific entities or commercial companies. Therefore, the candidate is required to have an outstanding knowledge and expertise in the field of ultrafine grained light alloys and characterization of microstructure-dependent corrosion resistance.

This position is focused on cross-disciplinary research activities in the field of corrosion resistance of light alloys (with a special focus on magnesium alloys). The successful candidate is expected to characterize microstructure-dependent corrosion of light alloys using advanced techniques which make possible obtaining detailed description of the proceeding corrosion mechanism. That person will be responsible for writing projects aimed at obtaining funds from domestic and European Union funds, writing scientific articles for Polish and foreign journals. Also, the person employed in this position will be involved in supervising BSc and MSc students. It is desired that the candidate will strengthen the existing research profile of the Department and contribute to strengthen the national and international collaboration in academia and industry.
