Project title: Synthetic alakloid analogues: aminoalcohols beyond the chiral pool.

Position Description: •  The Faculty of Chemistry of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is looking for a candidate for the position of research assistant professor/visiting researcher in the NCN SONATA BIS 8 research project entitled: "Synthetic alkaloid analogues: aminoalcohols from outside the chiral pool" (2018/30/E/ST5/00242).

Responsibilities:

  • Performing synthesis of organic asymmetric catalysts
  • Utilize spectroscopic methods for the identification and description of new compounds according to the ACS standards.
  • Participation in the development of new catalytic processes with new catalysts.
  • Estimation of enantiomeric excess obtained in the reactions.
  • Analysis of the results
  • Preparation of manuscripts for scientific journals.
  • Participation in project seminars.

  • Specific Requirements

    Requirements:

    • At least a Ph.D. in chemistry or biology or similar, obtained in 2017or later (2017-2024)
    • Experience in working in organic chemistry laboratory
    • Experience in organic synthesis or asymmetric synthesis
    • Experience in spectral data curation and interpretation
    • Publication record in organic chemistry
    • Good level of spoken and written English

    *If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article 125(3) of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with art. 125 sec. 1 of the Act, taking into account art. 125 sec. 2 of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rector's consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.

    Full-time remuneration for a post-doc type post is awarded in accordance with Annex to NCN Council Resolution Annex to resolution no 48/2018 of the Council of the NCN of 7th June 2018 REGULATIONS ON THE MODE OF GRANTING FINANCIAL RESOURCES FOR THE

    COMPLETION OF TASKS FUNDED BY THE NATIONAL SCIENCE CENTRE (NARODOWE CENTRUM NAUKI, NCN) AS REGARDS RESEARCH PROJECTS, POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS AND DOCTORAL SCHOLARSHIPS

    The person to be employed in this NCN post-doc position will meet all of the following conditions:

     

    a) at the time of receiving this remuneration, they are not receiving any other remuneration paid from the resources granted as direct costs under NCN calls;

    b) the principal investigator in the project has not been a thesis supervisor/auxiliary thesis supervisor of their doctorate;

    c) has been selected by means of the open competition procedure, carried out by a three person recruitment committee appointed by the head of the project’s host institution, composed of the project’s principal investigator as its chair and at least two other persons selected by them, who have all the necessary scientific or professional qualifications. The assessment of the candidates is carried out pursuant to the criteria outlined in the call announcement, and the results are made public by posting on the website of the project’s host institution;

    d) in the period of receiving the salary they are not employed pursuant to another contract of employment.
