Position Description: The Faculty of Chemistry of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology is looking for a candidate for the position of research assistant professor/visiting researcher in the NCN OPUS 20 LAP research project entitled: " Dissecting cancer activome to develop new generation of antibody-drug conjugates." (UMO-2020/39/I/NZ5/03104).

Responsibilities:

1.      Design, synthesis, and physicochemical analysis of cytotoxic antibody-drug conjugates

2.      Evaluation of the anticancer activtiy of the obtained antibody-drug conjugates towards cancer cells (with a focus on breast cancer)

3.      Preparation of scientific articles and/or patent applications

4.      Participation in scientific conferences

 

 

 


Specific Requirements

Requirements:

-          At least a Ph.D. in chemical sciences, biological sciences or similar, obtained in 2017 or later (2017-2024)

-          Experience in working with antibodies and enzymes

-          Essential condition: experience in working with cell cultures

-          Experience in applying statistical methods

-          Co-authorship of scientific articles in the field of biological sciences (biochemistry, molecular biology, medical biology, biological chemistry)

-          Proficiency in spoken and written English enabling the preparation of scientific articles and conference presentations,

-          Familiarity with concepts in enzymology, immunology, and cytometry is desirable

Period of employment and remuneration: 01.04.2024-31.08.2025, approx.  8900 PLN gross per month plus 13th salary and employee capital plan (approx.  11 666 PLN gross per month). Possibility of extending employment in the Unit founded by other grants.

*If a competition is won by a person who is employed under an employment relationship with another employer conducting the following activities: research, research and teaching, research and development, implementation (except for cases specified in Article 125(3) of the Act), and the employment is not expired by the date of employment at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology as the primary place of work, this person, in accordance with art. 125 sec. 1 of the Act, taking into account art. 125 sec. 2 of the Act, is obliged to obtain the Rector's consent for additional employment under an employment relationship with another employer after employing at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. If the competition is won by a person who conducts business activity, the requirement of art. 125 sec. 7 of the Act should be met.

Applications of persons sending their documents without indicating a specific reference number and sent after the deadline for submission will not be considered. The date of receipt of the documents is decisive. The date of receipt of application documents is considered to be 1.00 pm on the day indicated in the information about the competition. Candidates' applications will be evaluated by the Competition Committee. After the competition procedure is closed, the applications of persons who have not been accepted for work will be returned, provided that they were sent by traditional mail. People interested in having their documents back will be able to pick them up within 6 months after the competition procedure is closed, against acknowledgment of receipt.

1) Full-time remuneration for a post-doc type post is awarded in accordance with Regulations on awarding funding for research tasks funded by the National Science Centre as regards research projects (Annex to NCN Council Resolution No 95/2020 of  14 September 2020).  The person to be employed in this NCN post-doc position will meet all of the following conditions:

a) obtained a doctoral degree in 2017 or later

b) they are selected by means of open competition procedure, carried out by a recruitment

committee appointed by the head of the project’s host entity, composed of the project’s

principal investigator as its chair and at least two other persons appointed by the

principal investigator, who have necessary scientific or professional qualifications. The

assessment of the candidates is carried out pursuant to the criteria outlined in the call

announcement and the results are made public by posting on the website of the

project’s host institution;

c) their PhD degree has been awarded by another institution than the one planned to employ them at this post;.

d) they will be employed for a period of at least 6 months;

e) at the time of receiving remuneration, they will not be receiving any other remuneration paid from the funds granted to research projects under NCN calls under the heading of direct costs;

f) in the period of receiving the remuneration they will be receiving no remuneration from another employer pursuant to an employment contract, including an employer with registered office outside of Poland
