COMPETITION OPENING DATE DECEMBER 12, 2023

We are offering a temporal contract, starting not earlier than February 1, 2024, ending February 28, 2026.

The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018 (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2023, item 742 with further amendments).

In particular we seek a candidate with the PhD degree in astronomy, with a substantial experience in research, and a good publication record. The detailed requirements are given below.

The candidate is expected to join the OGLE Project to conduct original research in observational astronomy.

- experience in work on large sky surveys

- experience in photometric observations and reductions

- experience in analysis of gravitational microlensing events

- very good programming skills in Python and C or Fortran

- ability to work in a team

- fluent knowledge of English and good of Polish

Selection process

The candidate should provide all documents to  [email protected] .  Successful candidate will be required to provide original of all documents.

The entire procedure will be concluded by Jan 31, 2024. The candidate might be asked for an interview with the commission appointed by the Dean of the Faculty. The applicants will be notified on the results of the competition by email.
