Offer Description

We invite applications for a research adjunct position (postdoctoral research equivalent) at the Astronomical Observatory, University of Warsaw, Poland, in an ERC grant "Long Secondary Periods in Pulsating Red Giants - Traces of Exoplanets?". The successful applicant will work on 3D hydrodynamical modelling of AGB stars with companions. Special focus will be put on the evolution of the system in the course of mass exchange between the host and the companion resulting from the AGB wind. Results of this modelling will then be verified against phase-resolved observations of such systems.
