Full-time research and teaching assistant professor (adjunct).

Discipline: Literary Studies.

1 position available at the Willy Brandt Center for German and European Studies of the University of Wroclaw.

Main responsibilities:

• in the research and organisational areas: conducting interdisciplinary scientific research, preparing scientific publications, applying for national and international research grants, as well as carrying out research projects, organising and participating in scientific undertakings of national and international importance, in particular in conferences/seminars on German-Polish topics.
• teaching.

Skills/Qualifications

• Academic PhD degree in Humanities;
• Specialist in German-language literature after 1945, especially the issue of the culture of memory, the Holocaust and Jewish identity;
• Documented scientific output attested by the publication of a monograph on contemporary German literature and academic publications in the field of contemporary German-language literature;
• Documented scientific translation output (translations of literary or scientific texts);
• Experience in cooperation with foreign research centres;
• Documented participation in national and international scientific conferences;
• Documented experience in organising events (conferences, meetings with writers; and other culture creators) and publishing (editions of literary and scientific texts);
• Experience in teaching work with students, also with the use of online communication tools;
• Very good knowledge of German and other foreign languages;

Willingness to conduct interdisciplinary scientific research

• self presentation (information about scientific, didactic, organisational and other achievements in the field of science dissemination)
• a list of scientific publications
• electronic versions of the two most important publications (or manuscripts of unpublished works) which the candidate considers to be representative of his/her scientific output
• a copy of the PhD diploma
• two letters of recommendation concerning the candidate’s didactic and organisational experience, written by an associate professor or a professor in the area which the applicant is interested in or in a related area. The lettres of recommendation should be sent directly to the Committee Chairman via e-mail.
