Offer Description

The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements set forth in Articles 113 and 116(2) of the Law
of July 20, 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e., Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574, as amended) and § 90, 92 - 94 of the Statute of the University of Economics in Katowice, and meet the following eligibility criteria:
- have at least a master's degree, master's degree in engineering or equivalent with an all-academic profile obtained in the field of finance and accounting or economic analytics or computer science and econometrics or management or in another field of study with similar curricular content to one of the four fields of study listed here,
- have an aptitude for research work confirmed by the opinion of a person holding a professorship or doctoral degree,
- have enclosed a list of publications or a concept for a scientific article on accounting-related issues,
- have attached a plan for scientific development for the next two years,
- speak at least one modern foreign language,  
- have indicated the University of Economics in Katowice as their primary place of work within the meaning of the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science,
- preference will be given to candidates whose master's thesis was devoted to management accounting/controlling issues,

- An additional advantage will be the use of English at the level of min. B2, to the extent allowing to conduct accounting exercises and to publish research results in this language (knowledge of English confirmed e.g. by a diploma supplement, certificate or relevant statement),
- Attaching a list of publications in English or presenting a concept for a scientific article on management accounting/controlling issues in English or a draft of such an article will be an additional asset,
- participation during the course of studies in a scientific circle in the field of accounting, finance, economic analytics, econometrics/statistics or management will be an additional advantage,
- participation during studies in competitions in the field of accounting or controlling will be an additional advantage,
- in the case of foreigners, it is necessary to demonstrate knowledge of the Polish language.

The person hired for the position of Assistant in the Department of Accounting at the Faculty of Finance will be responsible for carrying out tasks related to: education of students of the University of Economics in Katowice, scientific development and research activities within the discipline of economics
and finance, including cooperation with scientific institutions and entities of the business environment in the implementation of the objectives of the Department and the University, organizational activities for the benefit of the Department/Division/University and other duties assigned by superiors.

Planned date of employment: 01.09.2024.
Type of contract: fixed-term employment contract
Planned period of employment: 4 years

Gross basic salary:
assistant (full-time, primary place of work) - PLN 6,300 (in words: six thousand three hundred zlotys)

Deadline for submission of documents: from 29.04.2024 to 13.05.2024.
After preliminary verification of the submitted offers, interviews with selected candidates will be held from 22.05.2024 to 29.05.2024.
Settlement of the competition will take place by: 07.06.2024.

The University reserves the right not to settle the competition without giving any reason. The result of the competition is not tantamount to the employment of the candidate, but is only a recommendation to the rector. The final decision on employment is made by the rector.
