The Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies, The University of Warsaw invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral researcher under the project "Maintenance of Integrated Research Infrastructure for Media Studies in Behavioral Research at the Laboratory of Media Studies at the University.

Skills/Qualifications

Essential:

  • Doctoral or habilitation degree in social sciences or humanities, as well as knowledge in cognitive psychology, emotional psychology, and/or anthropology/ethnography and/or ludology/game design.
  • Experimental experience (independently conducting research projects and experiments involving human subjects).
  • Scientific achievements supported by publications and conference presentations.
  • Proficiency in English
  • Analytical and logical thinking, readiness to work in a team, responsibility, diligence, and punctuality.
  • Desirable:

  • Experience in biometric measurement data analysis.
  • Ability to operate software for biometric measurements (e.g., eye-tracking, facetracking, GSR/EDA, platforms like iMotions and Tobii Pro Lab).
  • Ability to use software for qualitative data analysis (e.g., MAXQDA, QDAMiner).
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, Python).

  • Specific Requirements

    The candidate should meet the conditions laid down in art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 with later amendments) and in the Statute of the University of Warsaw.

    Responsibilities:

  • Conducting experimental research projects (minimum of 1 project per year) using equipment available at the Laboratory of Media Studies at University of Warsaw (https://www.lbm.uw.edu.pl/o-nas ).
  • Providing consultancy support for other projects within the team.
  • Authoring and co-authoring scientific publications in international scientific journals, participating in conference presentations, and preparing research reports.
  • Participation in regular meetings with the research team members.
  • Supporting the team leader in other activities related to project implementation.
