Postdoctoral position in theoretical particle physics

Full-time contract for 24 months within the research project “Searching for the solution to problems of the Standard Model in the Dark Sector” led by Marcin Badziak and funded by National Science Centre, Poland. The main tasks of the successful candidate will be to conduct theoretical and phenomenological research focusing on topics at the interface of particle physics and cosmology. In particular, existing and newly constructed models of the Dark Sector will be investigated in the context of dark matter, dark radiation, baryogenesis and gravitational waves.

The candidates have to conform to the conditions stated in art. 113 of Higher Education Law dated 20.07.2018. (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland 2022, item 574)

The candidate must satisfy the conditions required by National Science Centre, Poland. In particular, the candidate must have obtained doctoral degree not earlier than 7 years before the year of employment in the project. This period does not include breaks related to parental leave, granted on the terms set out in the provisions of Labour Code or collection of sickness benefit or rehabilitation benefit in connection with inability to work. For women, the indicated 7-year period can be extended by 18 months for each born or adopted child.

The employment will take place in accordance with the regulations of National Science Centre (NCN). In particular, the employed person must meet the following conditions jointly:

• The doctoral degree has not been awarded by the entity in which the employment is planned

• The selected candidate will be employed for a period not shorter than 6 months

• During the period of colecting this remunaration, he/she does not receive any other remunaration in any form from the NCN funds

• During the period of colecting this remunaration, he/she does not receive any other remunaration on the basis of contract of employment with any other employer
