postdoc position for ERC grant in Warsaw

The Director of the Center for Theoretical Physics PAS invites applications for post-doctoral position at the CTP PAS in the project ERC-Synergy ‘Sub-percent calibration of the extragalactic distance scale in the era of big surveys’ financed by European Research Council |(ERC) as part of the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No. [951549]). PI of the part of the project led by CFT is Prof.  Bożena Czerny. Candidates with previous experience in astrophysics, and in particular in optical observations, preferentially of active galactic nuclei and in programming, are particularly welcome. Among the tasks of the employed scientists will be modelling the expected continuum time delays in AGN accretion disks, applying for observations of such delays, analysis of the obtained data and simulating/analysing of the delay data expected from Vera C. Rubin Observatory, within the project the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST).

(1) The scientific CV, including the major scientific achievements, list of publications, participation in research projects and conferences, and the document must contain a statement: “I consent to the processing of my data contained in the application documents”

(4) Certified copy of the PhD diploma or the letter from the supervisor about the prospects for completion of the Thesis before the beginning of the employment.

(5) The signed RODO clause.

At the time of application, the candidates should either have a PhD degree, or will obtain a PhD degree before signing the job contract.
