Project name:

‘Toward an integrative model of maladaptive Spontaneous Task- Unrelated Thoughts (STUT). Processual and functional approach.

Description:

Spontaneous Task-Unrelated Thoughts (STUT) are an overarching construct that encompasses a variety of phenomena that share functional and processual characteristics, e.g. day-dreaming, rumination, task- unrelated thought. In the present research project we are trying to understand which factors are responsible for a maladaptive character of STUT and consequently might increase the risk of psychological disorders like depression or anxiety. To test it and create an integrative model of STUT, including functional and processual factors, we will use various methodologies – from daily sampling methods to experimental approaches using eye-tracking and virtual reality. The post-doc will be a part of a young dynamic lab (https://english.swps.pl/research/research-centers/emotion-cognition-lab ) and will be working in an international research team (the project is conducted in cooperation with University Grenoble Alpes in France). For more information, please contact Monika Kornacka ([email protected] ).
