What we do in Centre of Advanced Manufacturing Technology?

The scope of activities in the area of machining and tools includes scientific research and development works i.a. in the following topics:

  • machining technology (eg. turning, milling and drilling of metals, metal alloys, composites and plastics),
  • burnishing processes (slide & roller processes),
  • anti-wear PVD coatings dedicated for tools, machine parts and other products,
  • tests of fatigue strength using the rotating bending method,

Our recent projects focused on: (a) technological recommendations for the surface layer forming of cold work tool steels, (b) the synergy effect of mechanical surface treatment and low-temperature nitriding of Ti6Al4V alloy.

Major responsibilities:

  • Solving scientific problems in the field of machining and tools.
  • Implementation of research and experimental works in the represented area.
  • Preparation of research methodologies.
  • Acquisition of R&D projects.
  • Representing the Institute outside in contacts with clients.
  • Conducting works aimed at the practical adaptation of research results and participation in their implementation and dissemination (writing reports, patent applications and publications).
  • Conducting training in the area of its scientific activity.
