announces an open competition for the position of university professor

in the group of research and teaching staff

in the Department of Functional Food Products Development

 

Job description for the position:

  • conducting research activities in the area of food and nutrition technology and interdisciplinary research, including raising external funds for research projects;
  • Preparing and teaching classes in the field of food safety and hygiene; microbiological hazards, food safety management systems in English and Polish;
  • Dissemination of research results in the form of scientific publications in journals indexed in the SCOPUS or Web of Science database;
  • Participation in scientific conferences/symposia (domestic and foreign);
  • Participation in workshops and trainings to improve professional competence;
  • Participation in organizational work for the benefit of the unit and the university;
  • other tasks assigned by the head of the unit, resulting from the profile and nature of the unit and the university.

 

Requirements for the candidate(s):

  • holds at least a doctoral degree in food technology and nutrition or chemical or biological sciences, veterinary medicine or related sciences;
  • after obtaining the doctoral degree, has significant scientific achievements, making a significant contribution to agricultural science, including publications in journals indexed in Scopus or Web of Science database;
  • demonstrates documented experience of at least 5 years in laboratory work, particularly in a microbiology laboratory, including with pathogenic microorganisms found in food, mainly of animal origin, and in the environment of livestock;
  • Has experience in conducting scientific research in the area of antimicrobial properties of natural ingredients found in nature and in active food packaging;
  • has teaching experience at the academic level in the areas of food safety and hygiene, microbiological hazards, food safety management systems, including teaching and training, and has promoted at least one Ph;
  • serves or has served as a coordinator on the part of the university, or directs or has directed a research project funded by a domestic or foreign research funding institution (has an award and/or clearance decision for the research project);
  • has demonstrated significant scientific activity carried out in cooperation with more than one university or scientific institution, especially foreign ones (confirmed by joint projects or publications); 
  • has completed at least 6 months of research internship(s) in foreign universities or scientific institutions or a post-doc internship in an externally funded research project;
  • has experience in establishing relationships with researchers at home and abroad, building scientific networks of collaborators contributing to increasing the Unit's international visibility and enhancing the scientific potential of the consortia being formed;
  • speaks and writes the Polish language;
  • knows English at the level of min. B2;
  • meets the criteria indicated in Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science dated July 20, 2018:
  • enjoys full public rights;
  • has full legal capacity;
  • has not been/is not convicted by a final judgment of an intentional crime or an intentional fiscal crime;
  • has not been punished with the disciplinary penalty of expulsion from the university with a ban on working in universities for a period of 6 months to 5 years or deprivation of the right to practice the profession of academic teacher for a period of 10 years.
