Offer Description
The S. Sakowicz National Inland Fisheries Research Institute is a scientific institution with over 70 years' history, conducting research and implementation work, providing expert opinions and advisory services, as well as carrying out of national and international projects. The Department of Salmonid Research conducts farming and genetic works on salmonid fish in: improving the growth rate and survivability of rainbow trout in intensive breeding conditions; chromosome manipulations in salmonids; active protection of endangered salmonid species by breeding spawning stock with natural levels of genetic variability; assessing new types of devices and technologies; assessing the production value of new feed for cold-water fish; applying and perfecting methods of preventing disease in farming salmonids.
The employee will be responsible for: conducting research and development works and publishing their results; participating in commercialization of the results (patents, protection rights, implementations); filing for grants and seeking funding for research; developing your professional qualifications, including advancing your academic degree; active participation in the Department's and the Institute's organizational matters.

Skills/Qualifications
1) RAS operating skills;
2) PolLASA certificates allowing you to plan procedures and experiments as well as to conduct them, to care for animals in the facility;
3) use of a computer, MS Office software and Statistica software;
4) fluent use of spoken and written English.
Specific Requirements
1) authoring or co-authoring at least 10 peer-reviewed articles in publications with IF;
2) minimum 10 years' experience in salmonid breeding facilities;
3) experience - confirmed through academic achievements - in research concerning breeding salmonids;
4) knowledge on salmonid genome engineering techniques.
