Offer Description

The candidate is expected to conduct scientific research and publish its results, demonstrate activity in acquiring grants, actively engage in teaching activities, and also participate in the organizational work of the Institute and the Faculty.   

The scientific scope covers issues within the theory of condensed matter, in accordance with the scientific profile of the Institute of Theoretical Physics at the Faculty of Fundamental Problems of Technology, with particular focus on research on topological materials.

Tasks:

  • organizing, leading and conducting research activities in accordance with the research profile specified in the job description,
  • supervising young scientists and PhD students,
  • developing and conducting educational classes in the fundamentals of mathematics and physics, solid-state physics and theoretical physics, at both undergraduate and graduate levels,
  • collaboration with external institutions, particularly foreign ones, in the scope of ongoing scientific research activities.
  • improving the professional qualifications,
  • applying for research grants,
  • carrying out organizational tasks assigned by superiors for the Institute, Faculty, and University, related to ongoing research and organizational activities.

    The competition is open to candidates who meet the conditions set forth in the Act of 20 July 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2022, item 574, as amended), in the Statute of Wrocław University of Science and Technology and in the Code of Ethics Employees of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology.

    Applications of candidates will be considered by the competition committee.

    Stage I. Evaluation of candidates on the base of submitted documentation in the categories:

    • scientific activities and achievements, including mobility, scientific supervision and realized research projects (weight 80%),
    • teaching competences and achievements (weight 10%),
    • organizational activities and achievements (weight 10%).

    Stage II. An interview including the presentation of previous scientific activity and planned scientific research. Based on the outcome of the first stage evaluation, only short-listed candidates are invited to the interview.

    The final grade in each category is determined by the committee taking into account the interview process.

    The University stipulates that the competition may be unresolved without giving reasons.

    Salary:

    The salary consists of the basic salary, a seniority bonus of 1% for each year of service, and 4% for completing doctoral studies. Additional bonuses are provided for scientific and research work efficiency, an extra annual bonus equivalent to one month's salary, and potential supplements for organizational involvement.

    We offer a basic salary of no less than 9000 PLN.
