Offer Description
We are looking for a Technician in the research group of Molecular Mechanisms of Symbiosis at the Institute of Environmental Sciences of the Jagiellonian University. The employed person will join a newly created team whose goal will be to discover the molecular mechanisms of interaction between the intracellular Wolbachia bacteria and insects. The project will be carried out using molecular biology techniques, next-generation sequencing (NGS) and confocal microscopy. This position will be founded by the European Research Council.

Skills/Qualifications
- have at least three years' experience in working in research projects with evidence of co-authorship in scientific journals.
Specific Requirements
- good self-organisation and time management skills,
- strong motivation for research work,
- proven experience in a molecular laboratory (DNA isolation, PCR, qPCR, cloning, construct design, bacterial transformation, western blot, cell culture),
- fluency in English,
- fluency in Polish,
- ability to plan, perform and document experiments independently,
- a positive opinion of the head of the department/department or the scientific supervisor on the candidate's qualifications and predispositions for scientific work,
- ability to work in a team and supervise students,
- proven research interests and scientific achievements in line with the project topic,
- experience of working with insects and/or cell cultures,
- good knowledge of statistics.
