Director of the Institute of Plant Genetics, Polish Academy of Sciences (IPG PAS) in Poznan announces open competition for various positions in the area of plant nanotechnology at the IPG PAS in the framework of Horizon 2020 ERA Chair project (NANOPLANT- GA856961) funded by the EU.

Number of positions: 03 (Two senior researchers and one senior postdoc)

Work place: Poznań, Poland

Department/Division/Faculty: Plant Nanotechnology

Research field: Biotechnology/Nanobiotechnology/Agronomy/Agricultural science/Plant nanotechonology

Contract type: Full-time employment, fixed term for 3-4 years

Salary range: Senior Researcher (4.387 Euro gross per month) and senior postdoc (3.190 Euro gross per month)

Job location: IPG PAS, Poznań, Poland

Required Qualifications

Senior Researcher 1 (SR-01) :

  • Ph.D. in plant science, nanotechnology, or a related field and has developed some degree of independence.
  • Outstanding scientific achievements in research in one of the fundamental areas of plant nanotechnology.
  • Experience in the application of OMICS (transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics and functional genomics), molecular and biochemical approaches to plant-nanomaterial interactions.
  • Ability to attract competitive research funding and manage projects.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate with other scientists and stakeholders at the interface between academia and industry will be positively evaluated.

    • Senior Researcher 2 (SR-02) :

  • Ph.D. in Agricultural Science /Agronomy/ Plant Science or related field and has developed a degree of independence.
  • Outstanding scientific achievements in agronomy, plant physiology, organic farming, life cycle assessment of formulations and etc.
  • Previous experience in assessing the impact of nanomaterial-based formulations is an asset.
  • Ability to attract competitive research funding and manage projects.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • ability to communicate with other scientists and stakeholders at the interface between academia and industry will be positively evaluated.

    • Senior postdoc (PD-01)

  • Ph.D. in the field of nanotechnology/any field of nanoscience/material science/chemistry with exceptional analytical skills.
  • Outstanding research publications in any aspect of nanotechnology (chemistry, biochemistry, nanomaterials, environmental, engineering, or applied research).
  • Interest in applying nanotechnology knowledge to establish new experimental approaches in plant science; previous experience in plant science is an advantage but not essential.
  • Good organizational skills and experience of working in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work with other scientists at the interface between academia and industry will be positively evaluated.

    • Main duties

    Senior researchers :

  • Conduct high quality research in the field of plant nanotechnology and develop an innovative research profile.
  • Exploit synergies with existing teams and develop national and international collaborations.
  • Achieve the objectives of the project in close collaboration with team members, the chair ERA and the project coordinator.
  • Ensure close collaboration with ERA chair and project coordinator and achieve all measurable outcomes specified in the project description.
  • Disseminate the research results through high quality publications, participation in conferences, workshops and seminars.

    • Senior postdoc:

  • Development and scaling-up of nanoformulations for fertilizer, disinfectants, bio-compost, seed coating etc. applications.
  • Physico-chemical characterization of the formulations.
  • To study the impact of the formulations on plants using different analytical methods.
  • Include but not limited to conduct high quality scientific research, train students and visitors, prepare high impact scientific articles for publication and drafting of progress reports.

    • Documents Required
