Offer Description
The S. Sakowicz National Inland Fisheries Research Institute is a scientific institution with over 70 years' history, conducting research and implementation work, providing expert opinions and advisory services, as well as carrying out of national and international projects. The leading objective of the Department of Sturgeon Research is research concerning developing breeding and farming of various fish species in RAS systems. The main tasks are: perfecting methods of artificial breeding (off-season spawning and natural season spawning) of sturgeon and predatory fish, developing techniques for breeding stocking material (of predatory fish) and their verification on a technical scale. The Department also keeps breeding stock of valuable fish species in controlled conditions (sturgeon Acipenser oxyrinchus, catfish, zander).
The employee will be responsible for: conducting research and development works; participating in commercialization of the results (patents, protection rights, implementations); filing for grants and seeking funding for research; developing your professional qualifications, including advancing your academic degree; active participation in the Department's and the Institute's organizational matters.

Skills/Qualifications
1) Use of devices for producing compound fish feed, including an extruder;
2) Use of NIR devices for feed component analysis;
3) Balancing and composing recipes for fish feed;
4) fluent use of spoken and written English;
5) use of a computer;
6) use of Statistica software.
Specific Requirements
1) Authoring or co-authoring 50 points' (in Polish national scientific achievement rating system) worth of publications in magazines;
2) Experience - confirmed through scientific achievement - in fish nutrition;
3) Experience leading a research and development projects;
4) Performing tasks in a research project;
5) certificate of completing training for workers responsible for planning procedures and experiments, performing procedures and humane killing of animals used in procedures.
