COMPETITION

FOR THE POSITION OF AN ASSISTANT PROFESSOR

(in the research and teaching group—field: political science and administration)

AT THE FACULTY OF POLITICAL SCIENCE

AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

(Department of Law and Institutions of the European Union)

The applicant should meet the conditions specified in the Law on Higher Education and Science of 20 July 2018 (Dz. U. [Journal of Laws] of 2022, item 574) and in the UW Statute (Monitor UW of 2019, item 190).

Terms and conditions of the competition:

  • a doctoral degree in social sciences (humanities) in the field of political science and administration or legal sciences;
  • research interests: European integration, EU law and institutions, human rights, international law, coordination of European policies, the Council of Europe;
  • research achievements, including scientific publications on EU law and institutions, human rights, international law, coordination of European policies in recognised scientific journals and publishers;
  • fluency in written and spoken English;
  • teaching (in Polish and English) about European integration, EU law and institutions, human rights, international law, functioning of the Council of Europe;
  • participation in conferences in Poland and abroad, especially on EU law and institutions, human rights, international law, and experience in organising scientific conferences;
  • traineeships in EU institutions and foreign scientific centres will be an additional asset.

Tasks:

  • conducting classes in Polish and English in the field of European integration, EU law and institutions, human rights, coordination of European policies, activities of the Council of Europe;
  • obtaining and conducting research grants funded by Polish and international sources and publishing the results;
  • organising and participating with papers in conferences and seminars in Poland and abroad;
  • establishing and conducting scientific collaboration with Polish and foreign scientific centres;
  • gaining knowledge about the quality of education (in terms of both teaching and the organisation of teaching);
  • participating in organisational activities conducted in the Department and in the Faculty.

Required documents:

  • an application to His Magnificence Rector of the UW with a note on consent to the processing of personal data for the purposes of the recruitment process in accordance with the Act of 10 May 2018 on the protection of personal data (Dz. U. of 2018, item 1000);
  • photocopy of doctoral degree certificate;
  • list of scientific publications on EU law and institutions, human rights, international law, coordination of European policies in recognised scientific journals and publishers;
  • documents confirming experience in conducting classes on European integration, EU law and institutions, human rights, functioning of the Council of Europe;
  • documents confirming the completion of scientific internships in EU institutions and foreign scientific centres;
  • two opinions of independent academic teachers concerning the scientific achievements;
  • documentation of teaching in English;
  • academic resume;
  • completed forms available on the UW Human Resources Office website (https://bsp.adm.uw,edu,pl/bsp-druki-do-pobrania/-dla kandydata do pracy):
  • a personal questionnaire for the applicant for employment;
  • signed information about the processing of personal data
  • a statement that the University will be the applicant's primary place of employment if hired;
  • a statement confirming that the applicant has read and accepts the rules governing competitions for the position of an academic teacher at the University of Warsaw
  • The competition is the first stage of the procedure for hiring for the position of an academic teacher, as specified in the UW Statute, and its positive outcome constitutes a basis for further proceedings.

    The applicants will be notified by email of the results of the contest.

    Documents should be submitted by mail or in person to the Dean's Office of the Faculty, Gmach Audytoryjny, ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28, pok. [room] 216 by 4 August 2022. The contest will be resolved by 26 August 2022.
