COMPETITION

FOR A POST OF LECTURER [ADIUNKT]

(within a research and teaching group – discipline: political science and administration)

AT THE DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE

AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES

(Department of Political History)

The candidate should meet the conditions specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of 1 March 2021 (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 478) and in the Statute of the University of Warsaw (Resolution No. 443 of the Senate of the University of Warsaw of 26 June 2019 on the adoption of the Statute of the University of Warsaw, Monitor UW of 2019, item 190).

Conditions of the competition:

  • doctoral degree in social sciences (humanities) in the field of political science or political science and administration,
  • experience in research as a holder or two-times researcher of the grant of the National Science Centre,
  • experience in teaching in higher education in the field of social sciences,
  • academic publications in the field of political science, including publications constructed with historicism and cultural and historical explanation,
  • additional education other than the required education in the field of political science – in the field of cultural studies, ecology, history
  • experience in teaching in English,
  • knowledge of one of the non-EU world languages: Russian, Arabic or Chinese; knowledge of another world language will be an added advantage

Tasks:

  • conducting didactic classes in Polish and English;
  • obtaining and conducting research grants financed from domestic and foreign sources and publishing their results;
  • organising and participating in, including presenting papers at, conferences and national and international seminars;
  • establishing and conducting scientific cooperation with Polish and foreign research centres;
  • acquiring knowledge in the field of educational quality (this applies to both teaching itself and its organisation);
  • participation in organisational work carried out at the Chair and at the Department.

  • letter of application to the Rector of the University of Warsaw, annotated with consent to the processing of personal data for the purposes necessary for the recruitment process in accordance with the Act of 10 May 2018 on the Protection of Personal Data (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1000),
  • photocopy of the doctoral diploma,
  • documents confirming experience in research as a holder or two-times researcher of the grant of the National Science Centre,
  • documents confirming experience in teaching in higher education in the field of social sciences,
  • list of publications in the field of political science,
  • documents confirming education in the field of cultural studies, ecology or history,
  • documents confirming experience in conducting didactic classes in English,
  • proof of language skills in the form of language certificates,
  • academic Curriculum Vitae (Résumé),
  • filled in forms available on the website of the Office for Staff Affairs of the University of Warsaw (https://bsp.adm.uw,edu,pl/bsp-druki-do-pobrania/-dla kandydata do pracy):
  • personal questionnaire for the applicant for employment;
  • signed notice on the processing of personal data
  • declaration that, in the event of employment, the University will be the candidate's primary place of employment,
  • declaration in which the candidate confirms that he or she has read and accepts the rules governing competitions for the position of academic teacher at the University of Warsaw
  • The competition is the first stage of the procedure for employment for the position of academic teacher as specified in the Statute of the University of Warsaw, its positive outcome constituting the basis for further proceedings.

    Candidates will be notified of the results of the competition via e-mail.

    The documents should be submitted by regular mail or in person at the Dean's Office of the Department, Auditorium Building, ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28, pok. [room] 216 by 28 April 2022. The results of the competition will be determined by 24 May 2022.
