The Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the Medical University of Lublin announces a competition for a POST-DOC full-time position in the Department of Bioanalytics of the Department of Dietetics and Bioanalytics of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the Medical University of Lublin to carry out the research tasks of the National Science Center project No. 2019/35/B/NZ9/02854, entitled: “Effect of supplementation of model bread dough with selected phenolic acids on the structure of gluten proteins”.

Skills/Qualifications
Perform LC/MS analyses; Developing and optimizing phenolics extraction methods; Preparing samples for proteomic analyses; Profiling proteins and phenols by mass spectrometry techniques, identifying proteins and phenols; Performing LC/MS data analysis and interpretation, as well as statistical, chemometric and mass profiling analyses; Preparing manuscripts and conference presentations; Participating in training courses and conferences.
Specific Requirements
Possession of a doctoral degree, in the discipline of medical, pharmaceutical, chemical, biological or related sciences, obtained not earlier than 7 years prior to the year of employment in the project, obtained in an entity other than the entity where the position is planned to be employed. This period may be extended by the time spent in this period on long-term (more than 90 days) documented sickness benefits or rehabilitation benefits due to inability to work. In addition, the number of months spent on leave for the care and upbringing of children granted under the rules of the Labor Code may be added to this period, and in the case of women - 18 months for each child born or adopted, if this way of indicating breaks in the scientific career is more favorable. A person who does not have a doctoral degree, but at the time of commencement of work in the project will meet such a condition, may enter the competition for a post-doc position. Documented scientific achievements with publications in JCR-listed journals. Fluency in spoken and written English. Practical experience working with liquid chromatography in combination with mass spectrometry. Practical experience working with quadrupole time-of-flight (Q/TOF) and/or Orbitrap mass analyzers. Practical experience with analyte extraction methods from food and other biological samples.Familiarity with mass spectrometry and spectrometric data analysis software - Mass Hunter Acquisition, Mass Hunter Qualitative, SpectrumMill, Mass Profiler Professional, Proteinmetrics, Proteome Discoverer, Compound Discoverer, Simca. Experience in proteomic analysis, protein identification and post-translational or chemical modifications. Good knowledge of analytical methods (HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, LC/MS, GC/MS) and sample preparation techniques.

Salary: PLN 10,000/month
Eligibility criteria

Statement of absence of direct professional subordination. Declaration of no criminal record. Declaration of discipline. Certified photocopy of a document confirming the possession of a doctoral degree, obtained in an entity other than the one where employment in this position is planned, or a certificate of the planned date of defense of the doctoral thesis. When hiring for a post-doc position a person who has obtained a degree abroad that has not been recognized as equivalent to the corresponding Polish degree, the requirements for a doctoral degree may be waived if the person hired has significant scientific or teaching achievements. Recognition of achievements as significant shall be decided accordingly: Scientific Council of the College unless the requirements of the funding institution stipulate otherwise. The above documents issued in a language other than Polish or English should be translated into English or Polish.

Additional information: The competition is carried out in accordance with the rules established by the National Science Center for the post-doc position within the OPUS 18 competition (NCN Regulations, constituting an Appendix to the NCN Council Resolution No. 90/2019 of September 12, 2019 on amending the Regulations for the allocation of funds for the implementation of tasks financed by the National Science Center in the field of research projects).Salary within a full-time post-doc position in a project financed by the National Science Center may be awarded to a person who: Has obtained a doctoral degree from an entity other than the entity where the position is planned to be employed. During the period of drawing this remuneration, will not draw any other remuneration from funds allocated as direct costs from research projects funded by NCN competitions. During the period of drawing this remuneration, he/she will not draw remuneration from another employer under an employment contract, including an employer based outside the territory of Poland. In the event that more than one candidate meets the competition requirements, it is permissible that the Recruitment Committee may decide to recommend for employment the candidate in the second position of the ranking list including candidates meeting the competition requirements, in the event that the candidate in the first position resigns from establishing an employment relationship.
