The competition is open to persons who meet the requirements of Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (i.e. Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742, as amended.).

Qualification requirements :

• a diploma in dental medicine,
• a licence to practise dentistry,
• interest in teaching,
• knowledge of English at an intermediate level (B 1 or B 2),
• fluency in English,in the case of foreigners, knowledge of the Polish language in speech and writing is required.

Specific Requirements

Required documents :

• a written declaration of will  to participate in the competition, addressed to the Rector,
• a signed CV with a description of professional qualifications and the course of previous employment (if applicable), together with the clause regarding consent to the processing of personal data,
• personal questionnaire for the person applying for employment,
• copies of documents confirming education and professional qualifications, in particular: higher education diploma, license to practice dentistry, certificate of recognition of a foreign diploma as equivalent to a Polish diploma (if applicable),
• other documents confirming your qualifications (a list of publications with IF scores, ministerial scores, certificates held, etc.)

Personal data is processed for the purpose of recruitment (competition) pursuant to Article 22[1] § 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the Labour Code and Article 32 (2) (concerning competitions for managerial functions) and Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2022.574, i.e. of 2022.03.11, as amended), i.e. pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) and (c) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) (Journal of Laws of the Republic of Poland). Providing other data to the extent not specified by law will be treated as the candidate's consent to the processing of such personal data. In order to pursue the legitimate interests of the Controller, i.e. in order to pursue possible claims or defend against claims, personal data will be processed on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

The recipients of personal data are substantively responsible employees of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice who have the authorization to process personal data and public authorities that will make a legally justified request for access to personal data.

The data will be stored for no longer than it is necessary for the recruitment process.

You have the right to request from the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice access to your personal data,  rectification, deletion (subject to Article 17(3) of the GDPR) or restriction of processing (subject to the cases referred to in Article 18(2) of the GDPR), as well as the right to object to the processing and the right to transfer data.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing that was carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.

You have the right to lodge a complaint about the processing of your personal data with the supervisory authority.

Providing personal data is voluntary, but necessary to participate in the recruitment process to the extent specified in the regulations quoted above. Failure to provide personal data will make it impossible to consider your application.

Please be advised that we do not return the submitted documents.

The University reserves the right not to adjudicate the competition without giving any reason.

The result of the competition is not tantamount to the employment of the candidate, but constitutes a recommendation in this respect to the Rector. The final decision on employment is made by the Rector.

Required statements :

• statement of consent to process the personal data,
• a statement declaring that if the applicant wins the competition, the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice will be the primary place of employment , according to the Law on Higher Education and Science,
• statement of:

• having full legal capacity,
• enjoying full public rights,
• not being convicted of an intentional crime or intentional fiscal offence by a valid sentence,
• not being punished  with a disciplinary penalty referred to in Article 276(1)(7) and (8) of the Law on Higher Education and Science;
