announces an open competition for the position of

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

IN THE DIVISION OF PULMONOLOGY

group of research-teaching employees

full time employee

fixed-term employment

THE TASKS OF A PERSON EMPLOYED IN THIS POSITION WILL INCLUDE:

• conducting research or research and development activities, including active participation in the dissemination of the results of research activities,
• undertaking activities aimed at obtaining external financing for research activities,
• conducting and documenting didactic classes, in particular lecture, seminar or practical ones (exercises, laboratories, practical classes), as well as taking care of graduates and doctoral students,
• participation in organizational work for the University and the unit, including activities for the development of international cooperation,
• improving qualifications, including through documented participation in trainings and conferences,
• significant publishing and conference activity of a research or popularizing nature (including original, popular science, review articles and the like).

CANDIDATES ARE REQUIRED TO:

• holding at least the doctoral degree,
• demonstrating substantial achievements in research or teaching,
• the research and teaching output expanded substantially after the conferment of the doctoral degree,
• substantial participation in the organisation and pursuance of research and educational processes,
• obtaining external financing for research or teaching,
• pursuance of international research projects, or heading research teams;

JOB POSITION REQUIREMENTS IN THE ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT:

• complete a master's degree in medical sciences in the field of medicine,
• possess of a doctoral degree in medical sciences,
• have a specialisation in internal medicine, lung diseases and clinical transplantology,
• have many years of experience working in a unit specialising in lung qualification and transplantation,
• be fluent in English,
• posess the knowledge of the Polish language at a level which makes it possible to conduct classes with students.

EXPECTED CANDIDATE PROFILE:

1) Doctoral degree and:

• leadership of at least one research or teaching project financed from external sources external funding, acquired in competition after obtaining the doctoral degree, or a proven contribution creative contribution to the realisation of an international research project or leading research teams,

• in the form of at least six full text publications original publications within the last 5 years

(of which at least four as first author or author corresponding) in peer-reviewed scientific journals with at least at least Q2*; cumulative grade of publications in the last 5 years in which the candidate is first or corresponding author should be at least 10.0 pts. IF;

OR:

• a bibliometric summary evaluation of all publications in which the candidate is the first or corresponding author should be at least 25.0 pts. IF, and the Hirsch index should be at least 12;

• the supervisor of at least one completed doctoral thesis,
• achievements in organisational work,
• having a relevant specialisation in a relevant discipline of medical science

medical sciences, if the appointment is to be the employment is to be performed in the area of clinical sciences, and the relevant regulations provide for such specialisation.

• The result of the competition is settled based on the analysis of the documentation submitted by the candidates.

• The University reserves the right to close the competition without stating any reasons.
• The final decision about employment of a candidate recommended by Competition Committee, is made by the Rector of the Medical University of Gdańsk.
