Offer Description

The Faculty of Chemistry will employ a person for the position of associate professor in the research staff group in the Nobelium Joining Gdańsk Tech Research Community project.

Investigator in analytical chemistry. Laboratory work on extraction techniques, sample preparation, instrrumental techniques, such as gas chromatography, spectrophotomery and others.

TASKS/ ROLE
- preparing coatings for SPME fibers based on ionic liquids immobilized in the pores of a silica-based material using the sol-gel method
- testing the extraction possibilities of the obtained fibers
- optimization of extraction parameters and development of predictive models based on molecular descriptors and fingerprints
- critical analysis of literature and preparation of manuscripts of scientific publications

REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in Chemistry
- proven experience in performing high-quality, consistent analytical procedures
- documented experience in conducting research using microextraction techniques and in the field of adsorption and removal of micropollutants
- practical knowledge of chromatographic instruments
- Hirsch index >10
- very good knowledge of English (including technical language)
- ability to operate GC analytical devices, UV-VIS and FT-IR spectrophotometers

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- experience in conducting QSAR/QSPR analyses
- good knowledge of the Python programming language
- experienceResearch building AI/ML models using Python and intermediate applications
