The candidate should have MSc degree in the field of science, in the discipline of chemical sciences, area: synthesis and characterization of materials containing metallic centers and/or biologically active molecules; achievements in science (confirmed by scientific publications from JCR list); be involved in the above-stated discipline, have the predisposition to lead scientific research and to conduct educational activity.

The research subject concerns the preparation and characterization of new compounds containing metallic centers of biological importance in their structure and pharmaceutically active compounds. The proposed research aims to find a correlation between the crystal structure of the compound and its biological activity. The employee will be expected to design and synthesize such compounds, and also to crystallize good quality single crystals for X-ray diffraction measurements, and conduct full structural characterization. Hence, skills in chemical synthesis are desirable, including in particular various crystallization techniques and structural chemistry (experience in single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique). The candidate should be highly independent and be able to apply for and obtain research grants. In addition, she/he should have experience in teaching.
