Offer Description
The Optoelectronics Division of the Institute of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics, Warsaw University of Technology is looking for
a candidate for the position of Post-Doc to implement the project entitled: "Development of an innovative photonic system for monitoring water resources" (Acronym FoSMoWater) (HYDROSTRATEG1/000E/2022).
The scope of responsibilities: development of measurement methods and systems implementing optical techniques (Raman spectroscopy, SERS, FTIR, ATR, plasmonic techniques, etc.) for monitoring water resources regarding the presence of phosphate compounds, nitrates, nitrites, and microplastics; testing and validation of methods, development of system solutions (based on discrete components and integrated photonics systems) – modeling, designing, constructing, characterizing, testing, and optimization

Skills/Qualifications
1) completing higher education and obtaining a master's degree or an equivalent title;
2) having a doctoral degree;
3) very good knowledge of English;
4) scientific profile related to the scientific specialty of the Optoelectronics Division.
Specific Requirements
1) knowledge of modeling and designing of photonic structures for sensing applications, in particular fiber-optic structures, waveguide systems with plasmonic coverings and integrated photonics systems;
2) knowledge of issues related to the measurement technique of fiber-optic structures and systems, including the characterization of integrated photonics systems;
3) knowledge of optical spectroscopy techniques, in particular Raman spectroscopy (including SERS), FTIR, ATR;
4) experience in designing and constructing measurement systems for applications in the characterization of gaseous and liquid media using optical methods will be an additional advantage of the candidate.
