Offer Description

The main responsibilities will be conducting research in the field of optoelectronics, with a specific focus on integrated photonics. The conducted research and achieved scientific results should lead to dissemination activities by means of publications, conference submissions, patents etc.
These activities will be complemented by the responsibility of coordinating preparatory works of application for necessary funds to various R&D agendas, followed by the execution of R&D projects as the project coordinator and/or principal investigator.
Finally, the chosen candidate will need to contribute to the scientific development of the junior staff of the Optoelectronics Division.

Conducting research in the field of optoelectronics and in particular integrated photonics, photonic sensing structures, and plasmonics. This will cover in particular, modeling, designing, manufacturing (both in WUT as well as in external cooperating laboratories), and characterizing the photonic structures, devices, and systems of various kinds (incl. plasmonic structures, photonic integrated circuits PICs, fiber-optic structures, lab-on-chip devices, etc.).
Applying for funds for research – deepening the existing and defining the new research topics, preparing and coordinating the preparation of project proposals (both national and international, basic science and applied research-oriented), initiating the project consortia, etc.
Conducting research projects as a project leader or principal researcher.
Preparing and/or initiating preparation of scientific papers, book chapters, books, patent applications etc.
Contributing to the development of junior staff – mentoring, guiding, supporting in paper and proposal writing, and sharing with them knowledge and experience, with a specific focus on the modeling, designing, manufacturing, and characterization of integrated photonic structures and devices.
Contributing to the dissemination of knowledge actions and projects organized by the division, institute, faculty, and university.
